You know - the more I think about it the more the reactor being removed really gets under my skin - They just pissed on the whole subplot of IM2.

"Oh noz! I'm dying from palidium poisoning. What will my genius self ever do? I know! I'll invent a new freaking element to save my life!"

I guess he forgot the option of going to the @#$@#% hospital for 2 hour surgery!

Really!?!?

I think someone mentioned that he could not undergo the surgery before because he would die from the operation (shrapnels piercing his heart, etc). Having being introduced to extremis in this movie, he was able to use the virus to his advantage to finally survive such an operation.

I could be wrong.

Well, it's not THAT kind of a twist. It's just a plot twist. It's fun. You'll never experience it again, but you can still appreciate what you felt.

I don't see how it's a gimmick, as it's played into the story and Killian's plan. Kill the President, grab Trevor, bingo. He's famous. He's the biggest. He'd be bigger then Tony Stark every would. I just think people are mad they were jipped out of a Ben Kingsly villain. Which, could've been fine...but unless he got into an Iron Man suit, I have no idea what the final battle with him could've been.

I don't know what Iron Man did that wasn't already established. But before you tell me, you have to take in account where he is at this moment. He's a man who thought he was the greatest, but realizes he's nothing after seeing Thor, Cap, and The Hulk. He's just a man in a can.

So his priorities are going to be different. Hence his constant tinkering, his over production of suits for anything the universe could possibly throw at him, and his new "powers"...which he took from his little watch device in The Avengers.

He became a different character. He grew. It was nice to see.

Bingo. I was going to write something very similar but you saved me the trouble. Well said and spot on.

That's exactly what happened.

That explains it perfectly. That's the one thing I was a little foggy on. Thank you.

:goodpost: Well put.

It was a quick line. Probably cut down for time. Gotta bust in this rhyme.

Sorry. :lol But eh, the ending was rushed. Oh well. Gotta get those ticket sales in.

Shame they didn't indicate he used Extremis at all.

I must not have catched it. As i recall he went from the final bettle to saying he got Pepper sorted out then the surgery then salvaging the Dummy and tossing away his Arc reactor

You guys are funny. I'm just saying. :lol

And the best part about this movie was Tony Stark not relying on his suit. His break in to the Mandarin's compound was the great. As was the fight scene with the two guards. Probably the best action scene in a while.

I did thoroughly enjoyed that scene and seeing his strategic use of parts of his suit to fight rather than relying on the whole suit. However, this scene also did give me a Sherlock Holmes vibe to it.

I was reading that Gwyneth wants a "Rescue" movie spin off.

"The nice thing is that everybody's sort of been very sweet about Pepper in this movie, like all the journalists who came in. They were like, 'Oh my god, you have to have your own movie,' because in the comics, Pepper gets her own suit, and she becomes a character called Rescue. They're like, 'We need a Rescue movie,' and I'm like, 'Okay, well, I'd better hit the gym.'"

Was she that good in IM3?

I like the rescue suit storyline to be honest. Now, that they've rebooted I'm not sure if they're still doing it. I've stopped my sub for a bit. It would be cool to see her in the suit and I'm really hoping we see the bleeding edge armor now that movie Tony and comic Tony both don't have the reactor in their chest.

So comic Tony is also without the arc reactor? I haven't been keeping up with the comics and didn't know that. So it seems the movie was comic accurate in that respect.

Yeah, he lost that a while back. during the invincible iron man phase came out from his bones. The bleeding edge stuff is pretty darn slick.
