This movie was really, really great...until the final battle sequence. Kinda tripped at the finish line. Didn't ruin it for me, though.

Saw it, loved it!
Totally great movie. No fat. Nothing there that could be cut. The first half was extrordinary. The second great, if not topping the first. The post credits a marvel, literally! One of the best superhero movies ever made. EXCELLENT setup and it was so fun seeing him develop the suit.
Coulda been longer for my money! I want more!

Go see it now, if you haven't already! ASTONISHING! :rock :rock :rock :rock :rock

Did anyone else catch that the Bald-headed taliban guy was the Mandarin?

I wasn't gonna watch it(never have time), but this thread has sparked a fire...I have no choice, I have to watch it now!

I just want War Machine to be in the next one...hints throughout the film...

"Maybe next time..."

YES!!!

And The Mandarin.:banana

oh this is the movie of the summer.... sorry, but batman will not overcome it. i have no doubts that it will equal, but no chance in hell will it be better.
~~~and this movie rocks!!! i just saw it, will be seeing it tomorrow, and again on saturday with my bro.
Story wise, I'm not sure which movie, if any, will top it. $$-wise, it's gonna be a close race between Iron Man, Indiana Jones and Prince Caspian for tops at the box office.
Or will become The Mandarin...he was the first thing that came to mind when they said the name of the terrorist group.:banana
What'd I tell ya, this movie rocks!!! That suit is just SWEET. All versions of it AND the Iron Monger - I can't decide which I like the best. The Mark 3 is much smoother and more aerodynamic, but dude, the sheer brutality and giganticness of the Iron Monger is AWESOME!
Have to go work on a quick and spoiler free review for the Sideshow site now... but all I really wanna do is go see it again!!! :D
IMO, the Iron Monger as a villain was the worst part of the movie. The design was cool, though.
The movie was great! I'm going again Sunday. The end was awesome and totally Stark.
"Ok here's the truth... I'm Iron Man":rock:rock:rock
Absolutely awesome! It was a blast watching Stark design and build the suit and RDjr. is perfect for this role.
Great movie... Loved it... I won't repeat all that's already been said except to point out that here you have a movie that stays CONSISTENT to the source material, a great script, and actors who surprisingly can actually act taking part...
Can't wait for an Avengers movie-- but if that's in the cards I definitely hope that the inevitable Captain America movie focuses on his WW II exploits and at the end he becomes frozen with the Avengers movie spotlighting his adjustment to modern times.
That last line Downey Jr said in Iron Man was pulled off excellently and in my opinion the best line in a movie from recent times :D
Great movie all the way around. Smart humor and sharp acting. RDJ and Paltrow had great chemistry. This is now the yardstick by which future Marvel movies will be judged, and they have a lot to live up to.
With Rhodey eyeballing the Mark II suit and Samuel L Fury and his Avenger intiative, I'm already jonesing for the sequel.
I was so excited to see this movie. I was driving just about everyone at work crazy quoting lines from trailers all day.
I am so happy to say that this movie did not disappoint me in any way. I loved it. Quite a few moments that gave me chills (especially near the end :D)
What a refreshing thing, to see a movie that actually lives up to the hype.
You took the words out of my mouth.
After the film my friends and I had a debate over what was the best Marvel movie ever, came down to Iron Man versus Spider-Man 2.
We might have a new champion.
Favreau can direct any comic book movie he wants in my opinion. Does the Superman Returns sequel have a director yet?
