The Star Spangled Man sequence was very clever because they found a real world reason for him to wear the classic comic costume and become the CA symbol for that generation of people. It also felt like something that could've happened in real life as part of the war propaganda. For me the film goes to hell after Cap recues Bucky and he returns to the base. That's when the montages start and those weird shots of Red Skull angry that he's losing the war against Cap.

Agreed, they had to rush him in the Avengers though which hurt the film badly.

I really do think that based on the trailer LOGAN could be a genuinely good or even great film. I'm just shocked that they thought that that awkward flying leap would wow anyone. It's not hard to sell even a regular guy as being a bad ass and can be done in seconds. Jack Reacher punching a guy through a car window for instance. But for some reason Singerverse combat seems perpetually stuck in the early 90's. And I don't mean James Cameron early 90's but rather Hook, **** Tracy, Ninja Turtles, etc.

It is jarring to go from the rough texture the trailer builds up to glossy wire-fu. I hope they keep it as un-superhero-y as possible.

Blair Witch wasn't that scary looking.

Yeah, it sucks when people are unreasonably critical.:monkey2

Feige deserves tons of criticism.

People forget the guy's a suit. He has no artistic background. Heck, when Singer was shooting X-Men (2000) Feige was Lauren Donner's production assistant.

If the guy didn't alienate filmmakers so much and cared more about quality than quantity I'd have no problem with him. But that's not the case. What is the case is that the CEO of Marvel Studios is a massive Bayformers fan who compromised 70% of the MCU's films by applying a corporate focus on the content rather than an artistic one.

Yeah he really made a mess of the MCU lol

I don't know if I could bear watching superheroes kicking so much ass again.:cuss

When you have a cohesive 13-film franchise (14 when Doctor Strange premieres) and only a handful of your films are truly great, there's a problem.

Sure, the MCU's made tons of money. So have the Bayformers movies. Unless you're a Disney stockholder, that's nothing worth celebrating.

When you have a handful of films that are "truly great" you are doing better than everyone else.

Agreed. Somehow Quentin Tarantino combined those elements successfully in Kill Bill but they didn't overlap very elegantly in the Logan trailer.

October 19th, 2016: Everyone will always remember exactly where they were when they experienced Lunge-gate.
