Hate to say it, but there's a whole lot of fakeyness in that photo.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Nah, that's how Kiefer and Kojima usually look :lol. I'm more interested in that poster behind them. I've never seen that artwork before.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

You mean The Art of MGS1? I own it and I've never seen it, unless it was unreleased art which I doubt since that level of inking looks a lot better than Koji's done back in the day.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Nope, it's not from the MGS1 artbook. That's a fairly recent art by Shinkawa, I think Jason already posted WIP pics of it a while back.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Yeah his inking looked slightly more dirty in the 90s when he did he art for MGS1. That's definitely new art, maybe for their proposed 2nd remake of it they talked about years ago.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Isn't Kojima all about hints, foreshadowing, confusion, etc? I think what we may be looking it could possibly be.. a foreshadowing of a MGS1 remake.. but without Hayter voicing Snake. Meh.

Kind of made sense that they cast Sutherland for MG5 as the "hero" of the game and not Hayter; so that when they do actually attempt a remake, they can have both actors.

That would be terrible :gah:

:lol

How so? I've never played it. For sure I'm not going to bust out an NES emulator and try to play that.

Koji pro mentioned 2 years ago they want another remake, but possibly you're right about Sutherland doing it...

I think he meant the long rumored MGS1 remake not MG1 MSX remake. That being said, I don't know how a MG1/2 remake could be done without totally contradicting the gameplay mechanics of past games. I don't want a 23 year old Solid Snake doing stuff beyond his abilities in MGS2, say a holographic radar or adaptive camo.

Actually, now that I read it better. I think he wouldn't like having a MG1 without Hayer.

That would work. To be fair to Kojima, Liquid and Solid both have different voices, and they aren't exact copies of Big Boss. So why should Big Boss & Solid share the same voice? While I don't necessarily like it, I can see the reasoning if he plans to have Big Boss and Solid Snake in the same game.

I'm afraid to think what Kojima could be referencing with this photo, lol. It could mean nothing, or it could mean something, or he could just be throwing people off. He's so annoying sometimes. That said, he better do a Metal Gear 1/2 remake as one game, and follow it with a Metal Gear Solid remake. Think of all of the great figures. :thud:

thats your answer, you clearly didn't play the first one if you dare to ask that :lol
nes? what? no, psx

The first remake was totally lame, voice acting not nearly as good as the original and the music.. wtf, I was hoping to listen to classics like Encounter or Duel, but no, stupid gamecube always tried to have nice exclusives
