Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Solid Snake hardly took on Liquid and Big Boss one on one .. So i Give Credit to Hideo Kojima for Facing them all 3 ! at once !

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Solid Snake for life. No one else compares. Both Liquid and Solidus were characters to me that could have been "heroes" like Solid, but were warped by the Patriots machinations and didn't have the resolve to handle things like Solid and move forward. Big Boss, however much of a hero Kojima wants to paint him as, is still equally response for so much of the problems that plagued the MGS world.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Yeah they did. I still can't be my head around how Solidus acted. It makes no sense that he would act like that. It was such a weirdly written character. A man who turns kids into child soldiers, but values freedom and virtue so much he'll destroy part of the USA to get it? Sometimes Kojima really just confuses me.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

MGS2 convolution is why a lot of people hate it, aside from Raiden. I like it for what it is, but a lot of the script doesn't make an iota of sense. Regardless of mistranslation. Solidus being another secret good guy, while killing Raiden's parents and forcing children into war? And don't even get me started with the monstrosity he was turned into in MGS4...

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I love MGS2, but it has a lot of flaws for sure. What bothers me more is MGS4. I think turning Raiden into a Cyborg Ninja was pretty stupid, and was only b/c of the backlash he received. I think there were better ways to make Raiden "cooler", b/c I honestly can't see the Patriots taking a perfectly good specimen and destroying there body. Plus, if they were, I would think they would just have just taken out his brain. Severing the body from the upper jaw and down? That just made no sense to me. I've slowly come around to the overall design, but would have preferred it was someone else and not Raiden. I felt like Raiden was a great character, and was perfect for the time. He was a cool critique on the changing culture and emphasis on games and technology, and how it starts to blur the lines between civilian and military.

Solidus being a secret good guy was so WTF, and then he decided to kill Raiden? It was like a ping pong game and Solidus was the ball. How many times did Kojima want to bounce Solidus back and forth between good and bad? lol.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Great stuff.

I never replayed a video so many times :lol I love it

Master? :lol

You really need to take a good look at the franchise the last few years.

Lets hope he learned something during all these years, after watching the Phantom Pain extended trailer many times it started growing on me

Yea the reason why I dont care for the series.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

It never made any sense that Snake went after Liquid when he said he was "off to bury the Patriots for good." Let him go kill them for **** sake. And when you're about to fight Solidus, when he explains his motivation I'm like "why are were fighting?"
