Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

:exactly::goodpost:

That was something brought up when PW came out, Kojima should have known better than to associate a beloved fictional character with someone so controversial. Some people were debating that his lack of knowledge on the subject made him painted Che in a heroic light.

:exactly: :goodpost:

The looks were ok, but that tape was soooo out of place.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

The biggest thing that bugs me about Big Boss and the post era MGS3 world is the Big Boss and Zero obsession with the Boss's will. It was crystal clear at the end of MGS3. Leave the world as it is and the times will heal rifts between the axis powers. Big Boss wanted soldiers to have purpose and not to be made of as puppets and Zero wanted complete control on a global scale. How did they end up with completely opposite conclusions that were both wrong when it was clear as day?

:dunno

That was a plot point i absolutely hated in MGS4. What a crap way to explain the Patriots... perhaps if it was done well but i don't buy any of those characters coming together to create such a powerful secret society.

The Boss' wish was clear, and Zero was a good guy. Its just crap writing due to Kojima never intending to continue the story, which is what started the whole continuity problems with the whole series in the first place!

You got it right there, MGS2 was supposed to be left to someone else to interpret and make. He did MGS3 which was the start of the lazy retcons, not that I'm attacking MGS3 but MGS4's main plot line was outlined by the events of Snake Eater which I hated.

I refuse to believe Para-Medic became what Dr. Clark is. She was too awesome in Snake Eater, I love her! :lol

You know what I find ridiculous? How all of Snake's friends in MGS 3 suddenly turned out to be "evil" in MGS 4. I think Kojima has always intended to continue the series. But, the problem is, that he never contemplates about where the storyline is going, beyond the game that he's currently working on.

I look at it this way: the MGS games made sense from MGS 1 to 3. MGS 4 was canon but threw a monkey wrench into the series, with "revelations" that made no sense whatsoever. Peace Walker then continued the down-hill slide with advanced AI systems that were more powerful than REX and RAY.

But, for whatever reason, I'm holding on to a shred of hope that MGS V and TPP will set things right for the remakes of MG 1 and 2.

I agree, the support unit of Snake Eater is too happy and go lucky to become the evil Patriots.

It makes no sense to me which leads me to believe he just wanted to shoehorn Snake Eater lore into MGS4. And most of all, lazy writing.

I also think that Kojima needs to take a break, and go work on some other game besides MGS to clear his mind. I always had the impression that he's trying to incorporate themes from other projects that he wanted to make, but instead, used them in MGS - which aided in creating the big mess that we have today in the storyline.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

The thing is, that you're always initiating arguments. You take generalizations personally, and then go on a whole diatribe against the other person. I'm not going to apologize for having a difference of opinion. I never once claimed that what I stated was right; it was simply an observation from general fan behavior around the net that I noticed.

But, if you're always that sensitive, then perhaps you shouldn't be posting online in the first place, if it makes you that upset.

Not looking to start anything, okay? :peace

If I did indeed take generalizations personally, I agree that posting online should probably be avoided. However, MY observations of some of your comments merely appeared ignorant and ill informed. I simply tried to point out how your comments may be perceived. So in actuality, I was attempting to enlighten you.

Don't worry though, I see now that that is a futile gesture. Again, these are just my personal observations. :peace

You really do like to get on your high-horse, don't you? The only "futile gesture" is trying to get the last word in an argument that you initiated. Troll away, man. I've got nothing more to say to you and I'm sure that the feeling's mutual :wave

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Dude, we just had a terrorist attack in Boston!!! 3 bombs went off, multiple casualties. Look at the news..........

Sent from Shadow Moses by codec.

Just heard about that, no suspects as far as I know. Two dead with twenty three injured.

They found a bomb at JFK library and it's being disarmed.

Just to think there are some scumbags laughing and hi fiving eachother. There are simply no words that can describe how I feel, or how vile these beings are.

I've always said that I "like" violence in entertainment media but I completely and utterly despise it in real life.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

My God... this is awful. I hope that everything's fine where you are, Jason. I heard on the news that Boston's on lock down right now. I hope the authorities find the scumbags who were responsible.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Yeah stay safe Jason, I forgot you're from that area.

They said the library bomb detonated I think.

I work for the Courts in Philadelphia, I wouldn't be surprised if they closed us tomorrow.

Those are two different things all together. Things really get put into perspective when something actually happens close to home. 9/11 is still burnt into my memory. No one should have to go through that, and live in fear of their lives. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone in Boston.

Anyway, I'm gonna leave this thread, and post it in the relevant other topics section.
