I doubt he’s coming back, but I do know one thing for sure, he’s not the Arkham Knight.

The very second he’s saids a word he’ll be exposed. Can’t hide that voice behind a mask :lol

If Hayter is the Arkham Knight, this effectively means Batman and Solid Snake will duke it to the death.

This is a match up I don't think that anyone would have expected.

David Hayter in Arkham Knight? Refreshing...

Conroy, the man’s voice has just been too consistent over the years, Hayter has been shaky as of late.

I'm not going to even ****ing compare them :lol. Both of these guys are my favorite voice actors, and their works are legendary in their own regard. It's still a crying shame that Hayter was excluded from TPP while Akio Otsuka got to keep his job, because he's buddies with Kojima.

I wonder if we'll ever find out why Hayter was treated that way.

I think the best explanation, is that he was screwed over by company politics. Konami's marketing department seems to be running the show for TPP.

Hayter has always seemed to be very much in the dark as the rest of us.

What puzzles me is, wouldn't Kojima have power over Konami and not the other way around? Given MGS is it's last worthy milking cow.

It's truly baffling. And since he's the VP of Konami Digital Entertainment, I'd expect him to have a lot more say in things. But, I posted an article a few weeks ago, where Kojima mentioned that having a bigger budget in TPP, entails that he has less creative freedoms, because of the meddling from Konami's marketing.

But, I really have no idea how big businesses work, or what's deemed as "marketable" for big video games.

The bigger budget only restricts him to MGS, but I’m sure he has total freedom within the franchise.

I think its obvious that Kojima wanted to get a real actor to “play” Snake, this is the closest Kojima will get to making a film. He seems really excited to have Kiefer on board, and lets not forget he went to Avi Arad for suggestions.

I doubt Konami had anything to do with Hayter leaving, I don’t think they would have wanted to spend more money, while possibly alienating a lot of fans.

I was so happy Hayter was replaced, because I thought his performance had gotten worse since MGS2, and in Peace Walker it was horrible with all the gravely gargling. Sorry, but I think the voice got really ridiculous, especially with all the grunting. Kevin Conroy all the way!

I know a few of the scenes in PW were less than spectacular, but overall, it wasn't that bad. Also, Hayter's gravely, Old Snake impersonation was fitting, since Snake was - you know, dying? :dunno The voice acting in MGS 3 was exceptionally well done, too.

In the end, it's a moot argument, because Hayter's replacement didn't have anything to do with the quality of his voice. They just wanted someone with Hollywood star appeal, and I guess Kiefer fit that description.
