I was so happy Hayter was replaced, because I thought his performance had gotten worse since MGS2, and in Peace Walker it was horrible with all the gravely gargling. Sorry, but I think the voice got really ridiculous, especially with all the grunting. Kevin Conroy all the way!

I agree 100%

I have no problem with him being replaced. I still think theres a chance he might show up in MGSV as Solid though.

Kiefer has been doing a great job, I just wish Kojima would give the man more lines.

MGS1 he was great, 2 and 3 is where he started the exaggerating but it was still good, but 4 and PW he was unbearable almost.

I know a few of the scenes in PW were less than spectacular, but overall, it wasn't that bad. Also, Hayter's gravely, Old Snake impersonation was fitting, since Snake was - you know, dying? :dunno The voice acting in MGS 3 was exceptionally well done, too.

In the end, it's a moot argument, because Hayter's replacement didn't have anything to do with the quality of his voice. They just wanted someone with Hollywood star appeal, and I guess Kiefer fit that description.
In 4 it feels like it was intentional honestly since it sounds a bit different from PW, plus it really does work since Old snake is dying. He coughs a lot, for instance. And since Snake still smokes, why wouldn't his voice be particularly bad? In real life, such a thing would actually likely happen. I won't lie, PW was Hayter's worst but again, PW's a bad hangover to me. Decent to play though, and one bad performance can't really ruin so many other performances. Otherwise, Clooney would be out of a job after Batman and Robin.

And I still don't like the way Hayter was replaced; he had to be told through fans, and Kojima just handled it so unprofessionally.

.

That's the bottom line. Nuff said.

Hayter loves his fans dearly. He's just that kinda guy. I still can't get over the fact he wrote to me. Twice.

Yea, I can see where you coming from on MGS4, but like PW he did he sound terrible in the digital novels, in my opinion, he just seemed to be phoning his last few performances in, or his voice didn’t age well.

I disagree :panic:

Same here, he really is a perfect fit for BB, he seems to have won over a lot of the fan too.

And you made the best contribution to it

:mwaha

Watching ep 1 right now bud :lol

Also, I just rewatched the 1st MGSV trailer, and "What about him?" stuck in my head, what if it's really not big boss? :panic:

The pilot episode was great, but let me know what you think about it :hi5:.

But, yeah... seriously, what if MGS V is just one big VR Mission? Big Boss would truly be a twisted man, beyond redemption, if he'd resort to brainwashing someone else into thinking that they're him.

Called it some time ago. The only way i could play GZ with some excitement is that "Snake" might not really Snake at all. It's way too big of a personality change to just have him so reserved.

Also, why have two codenames? Punished and Venom Snake. It doesn't make sense to have Big Boss be called "Venom" Snake when the 2 marketing of this game has already established him as "Punished" Snake.

In case any of you didn't know, you never played as Snake in the tanker in MGS2. That was Raiden.

But, if there's a character swap it would have to be after GZ, after BB falls into the 9 year comma (or during the comma), so GZ could still very well be BB.

Btw, I don't know who this mofo is, but he looks mean and I need a figure of him.

One of those dudes Raiden sliced off in Revengeance?

You didn't play as Raiden per se, but I know what you mean. He mentioned he did the Tanker mission in VR, which in turn meant Raiden is really the player since WE did the Tanker mission.

Yeah, that plus Snake was hinting that that as well. It's completely reasonable to conclude that the E32000 footage was actually canon. :lol

Oh, the entire Ghost Babel mission was Raiden's VR simulation as well. To get that ending, you have to beat the game and get 100% on the VR Missions.

What was the ending? I don't think I ever got that. I don't own GB anymore but I did complete it.
