To your last post-

I didn't say it wasn't the swap out part. I said it doesn't matter that it is. Unless there's something I'm missing the whole point of articulation is to get a figure into a pose? Right?

Yeah not sure what you mean there. You clearly said otherwise.

Again I could care less about the reasoning and whatever behind it and this whole argument in general. I personally think it's a stupid decision on their part but the figure looks great anyways and I'm going to enjoy it regardless.

There is movement. Like I said it ain't much. And looking at it torn down its probably just from the multi piece design.

The two quotes where in reference to different things. One was a general statement about what the figure does. The other was in regards to a comment about a specific photo and pose. Those two quotes are both incomplete, and about two seperate questions. One is about a specific photo and the other just about the figure. I'm sure I could never cut out parts of two different posts in response to two questions that you wrote and make them look like you contradicted yourself.

Yeah I'm ready to move on as well. Regarding the alternate ab piece, these are the only 2 types of poses I'd consider outside of ground punch, although for the 2nd one I'd rather have the hands up for the repulsor blast pose with that stance. All the other ones look awkward.

Love how these debates eventually grow into semantic break downs. Oh boys stop the debate. Live, love be happy.

First off, I'm more of a reader than a poster. That explains why my post count is low despite having been around a few years.

With that being said, I know that Motu is often very opinionated and outspoken (which is understandable, because that's what a discussion board is for) to the point that he can sometimes get under people's skin. Often I find myself disagreeing with his opinions on certain things and sometimes just his general tone towards others.

However, in this case, I have to say that I agree with everything he's said so far on this subject. I feel like some are ganging up on him just because they're disappointed with how the final production piece turned out.

I'm starting to feel like people will find a reason to complain about a figure no matter how amazing it turns out. They complain just for the sake of complaining. In this instance, people are calling HT lazy, stupid, careless, etc. Like Motu said in a previous post, HT made a design decision. Everything about the figure is a culmination of hundreds of design decisions. Just like in life, not every decision you make is going to please everyone. I myself am a designer, and I know what it's like to have to make decisions like these. So to call them lazy or stupid just for making a design decision that you don't like is an insult to designers everywhere.

I, for one, love how this figure turned out. Do I wish they had added ab articulation? Yes, but I respect their decision to try something new. I also am looking forward to experimenting with the swappable piece. Do I wish they had made the red a little darker? Yes, but again, I respect their design decision. For all we know, the color could have been a decision made by higher-ups like Marvel that HT had no choice but to comply with. I deal with that every day as a designer.

Overall, HT knocked this out of the park. If you don't agree, then don't buy it. But don't come on here and insult the professionals that put endless hours of thought and labor just to give us big boys our dolly to play with.

People will usually complain, not always, but with the retail cost of these IM dolls breaching $300 routinely now people will be quick to point out whatever they deem negative aspects about a release. Happens in every single product thread on every forum on the internet, and it isn't going to change.

Posting just to complain about people complaining has historically solved nothing and done nothing but incite more complaints and arguments.

Good post and +1. You started losing me there when you said you agreed with him, but got me back when you shared your empathy as a designer :lol

No one is attacking him right now. He just isn't grasping that there is no midsection articulation here. These are swap out solid pieces that connect with a solid peg. There are no crunch capabilities, no ball joints and no swivel involved. So no articulation. At all. Not even a little bit :lol. That's all people are trying to say

Bingo! Ding ding ding ding.

You completely missed the point of my post. I wasn't posting to complain about people complaining. I was posting to stand up for designers and other creatives that have to make design decisions like these that could make or break the success of whatever the end product is. Would you appreciate it if people called you and what you do for a living lazy and stupid?

I'm able to do it with both the BD III and Mark IV...

I never attempted with the BD III and I know it's doable with the IV; what I meant is it's not great and a proper ground pound wasn't achievable until the better articulated releases. I've read several others post that back then. I only attempted once a long time ago with my IV and it was decent... a little wonky.. but passable. I remember people saying that they couldn't get it to look exactly like the proto shot; they couldn't get the pose right with the fist touching the floor or something. I remember the legs popping off a lot while I was tying too.

Speaking of the BD III... really happy I sold mine about 6 months ago (and got to keep the crushed helmet EX). Despite it's downsides, this is heaps better. I'm waiting on a BD 2.0!!

Bingo! Ding ding ding ding.

This is coming from people who don't have it in hand. Which I find more then amusing.

I didn't say he could do Pilates. I said there is some (in fact I said it's very little) movement in the torso. But that was not even the point I was trying to convey. People are getting caught on that one thing.

What my point was and is...what pose are you loosing that another figure can do that makes the WHATEVER articulation this figure has so subpar? If it has "simulated" articulation in the form of swappable pieces...or if it has .2mill of ab crunch?

And yes, as I said, MINE has some movement between the upper chest and lower ab. And as I also admitted it could be from not being a tight fit.

I'm not that sensitive, so it wouldn't bother me and I'd be aware of the fact that not everyone would like/enjoy my work and that it comes with the territory and paychecks I'd be cashing.

These people you're 'standing up for' have voices and PC's of their own, you're doing them no favors.

This is just a very, very underwhelming release. Sure, it breaks apart but while that feature is cool on Bones, it comes off rather toyish here. And it's nowhere near as revolutionary as the XLII.

It's just a 1 1/2-pound block of "meh" to me.

I say that all the time. What you did. Not him. I find it very disrespectful to call someone lazy for not doing what you would like.

And thank you for speaking up.

I was not trying to make it about "if" it had articulation in the torso. I keep asking and have yet to get a reason...what can another figure do that this one can't...if by swappable part or whatever...becuase if it can do exactly what the others do what exactly is the issue?

Starboost has more ab crunch then any other figure. So why isn't he the best one ever, if that's so important?

We knew it wasn't going to have the conventional ab articulation. They opted for a segmented body. This isn't new. the discussion against no ab crunch being bad was previously focused on one pose. The ground punch. So it can do that. Now it's an issue for what reason? I continue to ask
