I don't have any Iron Man figures yet (though the Mark III is on preorder), so I have no first hand knowledge about this, but I have heard that the ground and pound pose does not look as good from every angle with the other figures because it has to kind of "cheat" some things to get into the pose. The picture above of the 42 looks awesome, but I have no idea if it looks weird from another angle. Now what doesn't "look good" or "looks weird" may be a completely subjective point of view, but I understand the swap out waist of the Mark III allows for a more technically accurate pose that looks right from all angles. Again, this isn't my argument, just repeating what I have heard others say. Frankly I have seen lots of other figures put in that pose that looks great as far as I am concerened and I don't care that much about how "technically" correct it might be. As far as the Mark III goes, I like the figure and I like the swap out mid section to be able to do that pose if I want to; I am sure I will do it at some point but that's not everything to me. What I like about this die cast version is that it looks more proportionaltly correct than the previous plastic version. I always thought the waist on the first version looked too narrow as it allowed for articulation. I am happy with the die cast option because to me it is a possible statue and I likely will only pose it a few different ways and leave it a pose for long periods of time.
