just pick him up today. the paint job is amazing, and i think the red is spot on.
many people said its too light, but i think its excatly the dark red color shown on the
IM 1 movie. the whole figure feels very sturdy, and the joints are pretty tight.
tried to do the ground pounding pose but not quite managed to do it yet! will try it
again sometime next week. however, i find the arm missiles launching pose quite
promising. its really not bad indeed, isnt it?

may be, i will try to do it again next week. because it need some time to do this.
you need to detach the original waist first, its very tight and wont come off easily.
on the first trial i cant quite get the right knee touching the ground.
i am not good at posing after all! :slap

Amazing pic, looks really solid there. I am always jealous people in HK always can get HT stuff earlier than rest of the world :lol

Aaaaaaaa....drool!!!!
Can't wait to have this and open it up.

Btw do you guys ever think they will rerelease the Mark 7 and/or War Machine Mark I ?
Those are the only two other figures on my list. Diecast, plastic, 1/6th, 1/4?

I just don't understand why this one kept getting pushed back. It seems the Age of Ultron are coming in early. Black Widow, for example, is due to ship next week, a full month before my first of four flex pays were scheduled to start. Just seems to me their entire focus is on the current Avengers movie. But I do hope they do some more remakes and I can't wait to finally get my hands on this in three to five weeks (allegedly).

They might but if they keep to this schedule (a year from PO to delivery without a PO for another 2.0 one of the 7) it might be a very long time.

it has not been pushed back it's out but the big delays at the ports are still slowing things down.

Black widow is basically a repaint. cap is a repaint. Mk43 is a repaint. Hawkeye is limited resculpt.

Mk3 is a new sculpt and a lot of tooling. It's like comparing a paint by number to a new original portrait.

None of these figures are repaints. The costumes are entirely different. Cap is an entirely new body and uniform. Even the Mk43 is a completely different hip design to the prior version.

Every Mk 7 is a repaint, and there's been 5. :lol

This forum has a strange definition of what a repaint is.

Let an old timer explain it for you, and I'm qualified to do it because I was collecting figures before the process of repainting figures even existed.

Repaints are when a company takes a figure that was released in order to represent a character from a movie and then they "re-paint" it in a way that it doesn't really represent a figure from the movie.

Kenner started it, McFarland abused it.

Hot toys does market re-paints but not as many as most of you think

Midas is not a repaint, he's a faithfully representation of a character from the movie, it's not Hot Toys fault the studious used the same armor and just painted it differently.

The Gun Metal and Secrete project figures are text book repaints.

Mark 7 Stealth Mode is tricky, the concept is discussed in IM3 but not realized so I don't know how to call that one.

I also think if hilarious that 2 of the straight up repainted armors have the highest resell value.

BTW: I know if 3 armors based on the Mark 7- the original, Midas and SM, what are the other 2?

Your act of being over qualified and more knowledgeable than anyone else here is old. Stick it in storage for life, thanks. :duff

I meant the figures he brought up. Every iteration of black widow has been unique. The fact that wonder soldier and AoU have similar face sculpts doesn't count; the costumes are unique. Same with Hawkeye. Same with capt America.
