Just got my Whiplash pants today :yess:

I've used some fabric dye remover and it worked! Now they are a very light brown, and the best part is all of the burnt areas coloring stayed! So now I'm off to get some orange dye! :rock

sweet! I got mine today but missed the mail man so I have to wait till tomorrow to give it a go. Let us know!

Its looking like the pants are a success. Its a little too early to tell for sure since they are still drying, but the pants are diffinately orange now :yess:

I'm only worried they might be too dark, but I think that would be more due to the dark color of the original fabric to begin with. But with it supposed to be looking all burnt and beat up, it should be fine. I'll post full tranformation pics once the pants are dry (either late tonight or tomorrow).

please show some pics mate!

OK, here are some QUICK pics. The final result ones aren't correctly showing off the color they really are (too yellow looking) so I'll have to get some better ones later. But they are ORANGE! Not quite the shade of orange in the film, but certainly acceptable and much more accurate than HT's coloring forced upon them.

So here is the process:

Again, those final shots don't reflect the actual color well. They look too yellowish. I'll try and get a better shot of them later, when they have fully dried. But as you can see, it worked and they are definately no longer brown! :rock

After looking at the color a bit more and compairing it to my Saturday Toys orange jumpsuit, I think I'm going to try redying it with Tangerine Orange instead of the Sunshine Orange I used. So hopefully tomorrow I'll have it a more accurate color. But its a start!

Hi all, new member here.

I managed to change the colour of the pants to orange with ordinary household bleach (White King bleach for those in Australia). No dye required. I let the pants sit in the bleach for about 2-3 mins then rinsed with water. Presto! Orange pants. The burnt areas evens stayed black/brown but did fade slightly so I just touched it up with my airbrush.

Buttmunch and anton, those pants look 100% better. :rock

I'll be trying the bleach route first, like evil anton did, then if that doesn't work it'll be on to RiT dye.

Really?! awesome...I'm gonna have to try this.

buttmunch, i like what you're doing, but the pics are making it look too yellow instead of orange. :( do you have any other pics that look more orange?

that looks freaking amazing!

The pants look great. I was going to leave mine alone but if they're fairly easy I might give it a go after seeing those pics.

cool! ill try bleach too and maybe for 1 minute to see if the fading is less. but great job fellas. i was going to leave the brown alone but the orange looks better

OK, I've redyed the pants. This time with "Tangerine" Orange. The "Sunshine" Orange I used the first time was too yellowish of an orange (I guess 'shineshine' implies that though). But I can already see an improved coloring with the Tangerine orange. As soon as it is dry I'll get some pics of it, but I think we have a winner :yess:

That is damn near perfection!

OK here are some updated pics. Still a little on the yellowish side, so I'm probably going to dunk it in the Tangerine bath again for a bit longer, but its getting there.

And here it is on a body with some other Iron Man figures:
