Nah, going at it with some black paint would be better.

Hey buttmunch you do custom work right? ...i ask because i'm not good at this sort of stuff..would rather someone with the skills do it for me.
Just throwing it out there:D

Well, I don't consider myself a 'professional' like some of our many talented board customizers, but yeah, I can do simple things like this. I'm still working on getting the color right, but after I have it figures out, doing it again shouldn't be a problem.

Here is mine. I just washed the bleach out. Buttmunch what you are doing is cool but there is a much easier way. I bought clorox bleach at walmart for $1.30, put it in a glass mixing bowl with a splash of water and stirred it. This is what I got having it in there for no more then a minute. It was the time it took me to walk from my kitchen to the bathroom to get rubber gloves. Took it out and washed it with detergent to get the bleach out and stop it from going to much. That's it.

Its the most common that I know of.

It is that easy. I may touch up the burn areas in the future but I dont even have the figure yet. :wink1:

I'm in Ireland u see ..we probably don't do that brand ..but all bleaches are more or less the same right? ..would i end up with pretty much the same result from any brand of bleach?..as in that shade of orange.

Yeah. I figured I would be safe buying a bleach for clothing. Im sure you will have the same luck. I will say that the bleach will continue to strip the color after you pull it out so make sure and wash it quickly so that it doesnt go too far.

I think Hot Toys manufactured these in the correct color and then got shut down by Marvel. So they over dyed with brown to cover the copy right issue. Because the orange coming out is perfect. And its so simple.

I used laundry detergent and cleaned it in my sink right after I pulled it out.

so you filled the sink and added detergent and just washed the material in there?
i have my spare jumpsuit on the way and will be trying the bleach method i think.
so im assuming the steps would be something like this
1. fill bowl with bleach, add splash of water
2. add material for 10 seconds?
3. wash in sink with detergent
4. hang to dry?

Close... here is the exact step and time as best as I can remember. Should have filmed it. :)

Big mixing bowl made of glass. I feel glass is the safest for chemicals. I poured about two cups :dunno Enough that I felt I could submerge the garment. Then maybe a cup or so of water because the bleach is a little thicker then water. I figured this would help get the bleach into the fabric better. I also didn't want to hit it with straight bleach. I had a whisk handy and so I stirred it up.

Put the garment in and used the whisk to push it down. That's when I thought I need to work it into the fabric more and so I walked about twenty feet to my bathroom to get gloves. Put them on on the way back. When I got there the color was already starting to go so I worked the fabric a little to make sure and get all the areas even. I could see the color shifting in front of me. I figured it was good enough to start and pulled it out. Ran it under the tap for a bit and thought I need to get all that bleach out so I got my laundry detergent and poured some right from the bottle onto the garment. Using my hands kind of worked it into a lather and rubbing the fabric on itself. Rinsed it and just to be safe washed it again.

That's when I took that first picture. I had some laundry in the dryer so I threw it in and turned it on for maybe five minutes. Pulled it out and there you have it.

Id still rather not do it myself ..you only get one go at it and id be afraid id somehow f it up.

That sounds quite possible considering that sourcing the materials probably happens very early on and the pants may have been even completed already long time ago.
I really do think the reason why Black Widow, T-1000 Sarah came out so quickly is because their garment department is unchallenged at this time while all these complicated figures (IM, Predator etc) whithout any real need for clothing are being announced and released
