finally got my pants in the mail and bleached them
i thought they would be too dark when i took them out of the bleach but once they dried they turned out perfect!

i ordered a pair of whiplash pants off ebay (got ripped off by the shipping tho) i plan on doing the same thing, but i'm curious how long you had them in the bleach for...2 minutes? 5? 10?

the bleaching of the pants was not as easy as i had first thought.
I filled a tub with detergent and water and mixed it around i also had a small tub with water and then about 50ml of bleach it was not much
i then put the pants in and stood around waiting for them to change color which took too long so i took the pants out and added about another 50ml and then put the pants back in and waited for them to change color again. this also seemed to take some time im not sure how long i was doing it for entirely it all depends on how orange you want them
when i took them out they where a dark red color but i knew that once they dried they would change color, i only expected about three shades brighter but once they had dried fully i was surprised to see how orange they actually where.
I hope this helps. i suggest taking your time and do not over bleach you can't go back once you go too far.

The other guys used 1 1/2 cups of bleach in 1 cup of water and just kept dunking the pants in and out until they got the right color. Just a matter of seconds I think. I went the harder dying route, but got about the same color.

In other news, my Whiplash shipped from Sideshow today :yess:

I'll have him Friday! :rock

Yeah everyone's pants turned out better than mine :panic:
buttmuch! Finally got te figure to go along with the pants!!!!
The guy who started us all onto this path oh and the guy who showed us the shortcut. Thanks again

I want to go to the drugstore at lunch and pick up a battery for mine to see if the lights not working on mine is caused by a dead battery.
Does anyone know what kind of battery I should look for?
I don't have mine with me.

Since I'll be getting Dr. Vanko tomorrow so I went to see Iron Man 2 again tonight at the dollar theater. I noticed during the race track scene that the holes in the knees of the pants aren't there until he gets hit by the car. So that is the damage he got from the car and you can see the knee braces then. So basically the figure is of the small moment between getting hit by the car and getting beaten by Iron Man. Maybe 30 seconds of screen time :lol

i wasn't that excited about the mark 5 until i dyed the pants orange
making the pants orange really makes you love this figure more.

Alter Ego ships this next week, just got my notice....hopefully it'll be in my hands late next week....yippie! :yess:

Finally got Whiplash. Love him. Pants swap was fairly easy. And he looks much better with the correct pants. I also added a toothpick for him since it completes the look. :rock
