Re: 1/4 Hot Toys - QS005 - Avengers: AoU - 1/4 Iron Man Mark 43 Figure

Out of curiosity, what happened to the noob call Joyous(?) who posted a day or two ago about how people are bad for wanting this? Saw that some posts were removed. I predicted he would be gone early. Was I right?

Outta here..

lol thanks for the update, guys. Wasn't trying to flame but was really curious what happened after I stepped away for a bit. Anyways, this figure rocks!!

Re: 1/4 Hot Toys - QS005 - Avengers: AoU - 1/4 Iron Man Mark 43 Figure

this thing looks too good to pass up. I just wish the 1/4 figures came out more frequently. I'll have to stick to both scales for now.

Re: 1/4 Hot Toys - QS005 - Avengers: AoU - 1/4 Iron Man Mark 43 Figure

They have no comparison.

The 1/4 figs are in a league of their own. I have the dkr and the endo and theyre phenoms. Anyone who pays attention to my post knows i dont follow the iron man craze but this baby is gorgeous and im sure the production will not disappoint. I just hope its not too horrible on the wallet. I love the idea that these figures are limited and exclusive but i wish we lived in a world where everyone could enjoy them. But thats another issue.

Seeing how the 1/6 scale version and other ironman figs are being priced, not to mention 1/4 figs, i think this price is gonna suck.

I wish I collected 1/4 instead of 1/6. Don't get me wrong, I love my 1/6 figs. But 1/4 is the big leagues imo. That enterbay batman begins (outside quality control issues) is the most realistic figure I have ever seen. The QS001 is also good. Wished I had picked those two batmans and the joker up when I had the chance. I'm not missing out this time and will get this IM no matter the cost (unless it's like a couple of Gs of course).

Big leagues is 1:1 scale and props used on screen that go for thousands of dollars imo. Anything else is just collecting regardless of scale. Not sure why HT opted for the Mk 43 to be their first foray into IM quarter scale as it would seem like the Mk 3 would be the obvious choice there, but hopefully it will be well done and hassle free when it does release.

Since Iron Man is well past (6, almost 7 years old. :thud:), they have plenty of time to get to a Mk III if they want to. Now is the time to get anything AoU out and promoted, since the marketing machine is in full force for the film.

Plus, bright and shiny new (sorta) suit design attracts more attention from the starry eyes masses than those of us crazy enthusiasts with an appreciation/preference for all the different Mks, past, present, and future.

The awesomeness of 1/6's sculpt and paint apps + presence of a Premium Format. Winning combo, IMO.

Mark 3 will surely be bought when released anytime, in 1/4 scale (I know I would, waiting on the PF and HT QS version). Newer armors still have to ride the hype of the movie, I suppose.

I'd be down for a Mark I, II, II and VI in 1/4 scale. I would go as far as selling my 1/6 scale ones for it.

Of all of the armors, a 1/4 Mark II would be on top of my list.

hey you know Sideshow have a great 1/4 MKII statue out next year

I love the look of this but I'll wait for the 1/4 Mk 3 and 6...fingers crossed they actually make them. Looking at the QS range so far it's Batman, Terminator, Star Wars and Iron Man. Do you think this will now be the pattern or will they add other franchises?

Re: 1/4 Hot Toys - QS005 - Avengers: AoU - 1/4 Iron Man Mark 43 Figure

You are not around the SSC IM statue threads, are you?
:lol

I think people aren't liking the base on that statue as I recall, not had a look at the thread for a while though.

The base isn't bad, it just makes no sense for the Mk 2 to be on that gantry since it wasn;t introduced in the films until he wore the Mk3. The real issue with that piece is the horrible split pose it has going on.

It's not good, I still like the mark II suit best of all & when Sideshow said they were marking a mark II statue I initially thought I'd be getting it but when I saw it I wasn't thrilled, haven't ordered it because it's just not looking good enough to me..., the Iron Patriot looks great but I have the diecast figure & a mini-bust so don't want another, disappointed really but I suppose they have to come up with new bases for every statue (this one should've been saved for the mark III if used at all).

oh! right I guess thats a major inaccuracy.... its something I would ignore in place of a good statue, I just thought it looked good
