WTF! I literally just bought the SSC 3PO while I was at the ICC Con in Nashville yesterday. Now HT want to give us a 3PO.

I'm still going to pick one up until HT releases a OT version... it may not be perfect, but it's still worth it.

I've had the SS 3PO for many years now and I never thought it was going to be such a long-term figure on my shelf. When the HT ANH/ESB 3PO comes I will of course upgrade immediately, but for now I don't feel like I'm missing a 3PO.

I feel the same way. I’ve wanted a replacement 3PO for a while now. Sideshow’s is basically a good placeholder. The ultimate would really be to find a Tamashi version, but I know it’s super expensive.

I’ll probably get the Episode II version by Hot Toys even if it’s not my ideal one, but I’ll keep Sideshow’s too.

Thing is, without Josasta Nu then Obi probably wouldn’t have come across Jango and the clone army. And none of the rest would’ve followed. Howard and his team need to think very carefully before passing over this figure, and the consequences of that.

I'm curious, what are the consequences of HT not making a figure of this obscure elderly woman?

Yeah I got him out of the box and put him on the shelf anyways. Still feels good to finally have a 3PO in the collection. If and when HT finally gives us a shiny diecast ANH version, I'll stick the SSC version with some other character

This is the first time I've ever heard someone ask for a Jocasta Nu figure, and probably the last. Good luck.

I like my Threepio and I’m happy to have him in my display. I’ll definitely get a Hot Toys gold plated upgrade, but that looks like a few years still to wait until I get one in hand.

C-3PO is about to be Hot Toys new Boba Fett.
He can have the same mold released with different paint apps several times even as different characters.

You'll have the SSC 3PO for at least more than a year in your display before the Hot Toys releases their version. It'll be well worth it.

It amazes me when I think about how these used to be shelf warmers at the conventions.

When I bought the Tamashi C-3P0 years ago, it was the most I had ever spent on a figure. As soon as I opened it, I knew it was worth every penny and I knew this was a figure I wouldn’t need to upgrade. It is amazing and has remained in my top ten since I got it. Hope that Hot Toys can make a great C-3P0 and a great OT version for everyone down the line.

I will say even though it’s not what I would first think of it is kind of cool to get the Episode II 3PO for something different.

For years I actually always wanted the unfinished version from Episode I, but I’m sure that would be a more complex figure and would probably be difficult to produce.

Yep, same boat. They're doing the 25% off sale on SS as well so if they're a part of it, I think I'll still grab them. I'm pretty sure that HT will do ANH Threepio soon...well soon-ish . They'll sell this one and then shortly after announce ANH in typical Hot Toys fashion.

Good news is we should now see an OT 3PO in a couple years when the price for a die cast figure will be in the $500 range.

Of course the first Hot Toys C-3PO would be the very film specific AOTC version.

I hope they don’t do a shiny Clone that’s solely locked to AOTC so that there’s no Phase 2 helmet.

I don’t see them making a ton of figures regardless, but it would be a good time for the Padme and Battle Droids they teased.

Yeah it's crazy they haven't made a C-3PO all this time given how much it's sought after.
