i wouldn't mind owning one 1/4 scale figure as a centerpiece. but i couldn't see myself collecting more than one.

if i did get just one, i think i'd wait for infinity wars part 2.. or whenever they make a final battle iron man armor, whether it's infinity wars 1 or 2.. or maybe even sooner (hopefully not, hopefully tony lives until the end of this phase at least).

Honestly, if I wasn't limited by space, I would only collect 1/4. I will admit that there's no real rational for me though, besides them having more presence. Like, I would rather buy a single 1/4-scale figure than two 1/6-scales, but I would also rather buy three Mezco superhero figures than one 1/6-scale.

Production Mark 45 on display. Sculpt change on the ab and the coloring throughout has changed a bit as well.

Originally I preferred this (45) to the MK XLVI (46), but the more I see of the 46 I'm starting to warm up to it more. Especially with all the LED's, the Stark head and the fact it cost's $10 less. I'm not sure if I'm liking the redone (?) hip section. It looks odd now that the AB plates go all the way down the crotch versus a panties look. The original photos don't have that.. Although the arms do look better as the original proto pictures they looked short and made the torso look odd. Still really looking forward to photos of this guy in hand and compared with other armors.

Thanks for pointing that out. :duff I much prefer the look of the prototype...

Oh well, this is what we're gonna get.

My girlfriend likes my figures but if she asked me what i am doing right and i answered reading about iron mans crotch and panties she might pack up her panties and leave :lol

I don't like a lot of the newer Iron Man designs as much as the ones from the first two movies, but I like this one a lot. The clean paint job is really tempting me.

I would. Never was a fan of the 42 or 43. To me, they kinda looked like pieced together suits. The 45 has a unique paint job, that i havent ever seen on a hot toys iron man yet.

The proto and this new pic look very different to me, I kind of like the proto better but wont make any assumptions until it is officially release soon I hope

I have TFA cap and the shield is fine... unless its a different figure you're talking about. The only 2 HT Caps I don't have are rescue version and star spangled man.

SSM is definitely an acquired taste, or if you're a completionist. Rescue Cap is an awesome figure In my opinion. lots of accessories but his kness on one of mine (the other is still boxed) are very loose. It might have to do with the figure being very top heavy.

Won't it end up scratched and chipped like Cap's shields then?

Depends on the quality of the electroplating. Done poorly, it'll start flaking off after a few months. Done well, it'll last for decades.

Of course this is Hot Toys we're talking about, so there is every chance EP figures are about to become the new oily abs or ED-209 domes...

Or the 400 that don't have issues.
