I've read civil war, and some around it. I grew up with 80s/90s stuff as the modern, but I read all the older stuff. My first comic read was hulk 180. So I've read a wide range. I've got nearly complete runs of most major books. But like I said, I've missed so much. And when u stop for so long it's so hard to know where to pick up and what surrounding titles tie in. Lol drives me nuts. For me, the art work is as important as the story. I can't get into a run if the art sucks.

I don't think I've read the marvel now stuff. I've got like years worth of comics I have not gotten through yet. Being deployed for years during military, and then busy and travel for work and then a little kid. I bought everything but just have not gotten to read. Got probably 10 long boxes full of stuff I've never read. Guess I should start hitting it. I've spot read some stuff. Just don't think marvel now was in that list.

Is it just the story or the art?

Same here, very hard to catch up and read it all as I've picked up a ton of TPB's to fire through but still have lots to actually sit and read. I haven't finished the Marvel Now run but I do enjoy it, the art and designs most of all though. There's only so many hours in a day. :lol

If you want a good story with great art, check out Matt Fraction and David Aja's Hawkeye: My Life As A Weapon. It loses steam after a while but the first half of the run is pure gold.

Also just about anything drawn by Jerome Opena. I honestly wish they'd put his work out as just the pencils and nothing else, he's that good.

I like the last page. I am more of a realism fan. I don't like the cartoon (can't think of another word to describe the top on, cartoon isn't right) look. I'm a Jim lee fan. And Gabe Dell'otto. Those are my style preferences. But I don't mind other stuff. Just not my top choice. I don't like overly simplistic or anime stuff tjough

I have the first two Trades for Hawkeye...really enjoying it. I'm kind of lost and all over the place after returning to comics from over a 25 year absence. Used to be more of a DC guy overall other than Spidey books.

I've enjoyed some Spidey circa 'Brand New Day'...some Superior Spidey was LOL fun...I liked Civil War. Other than that I'm reading Warren Ellis' 'Trees' and just got into Iron Fist: The Living Weapon. I need story and art; I'm less forgiving of art.

Not sure what else to check out.

Hush batman run and lees superman run are fantastic.

Old man logan from Wolverine. And the original origin mini is goodimage.jpg

Adi and Dell'Otto have almost similar styles but you can totally tell which is which especially with the paints and colors they both use.

I noticed Adi's colors seem to always look more grainy if that makes sense.

Yeah. I think your right. It was in my onslaught reference folder. I thought it was Gabe but you are probably right. Nice catch.

I can't wait to see how much this thread will blow up when some pics of the hot toys version gets leaked lol.

There's some fantastic Batman runs: Year One, The Longest Halloween, Hush are 3 off the top of my head.

The only time I've ever really read Supes was when he got killed. :lol

Brubaker's Captain America run is amazing as well.

Ahem* Killing Joke ahem*

The ones I own are killing joke and Death of the Family. Anything with the Joker is just great to me.

Yep those are both good. Man, 25 years, that's so many great runs missed. All of McFarland. Most of Jim lee. Kubert. All the ultimate runs. On a postive note, no clone spiderman. But no gambit. Watchmen(I think that's under 25). Walking dead. So much

It's a long time out. I did catch Watchmen, The Dark Knight Returns, and Dark Victory.
