When I said impact I was referring to bullets/fists/shields/hammers. Falling out of the sky is a completely different animal to tame.

Even getting thrust head first through a concrete ceiling while testing the MkII... If his broken neck didn't kill him, his brain physically reacting against his skull like a bowel of jelly thrown on the floor would..

Dude... get a brain, please.

Yea no problem. It's not like this is what I do for a living. Not like I actually worked on two of these movies. But sure, you probably know more. I mean you nailed the 1/4 scale hulkbuster with full animatronic price..at 800 bucks. With that kind of intuition why wouldn't I believe your out of left field stat that "modern directors" do something different and cut huge amounts of time from a movie (1/10 of a movie amounting to minutes of actual time).

But I am totally sure you are correct and it is I that was off base. Please enlighten me with where you get your stats from and how you came to these conclusions?

This is how I feel right now...

Sorry dave. It's just irksome to me when someone who obviously has zero understanding of how things works, throws out crazy numbers and theories with zero supporting info or arguments.

I would be willing to bet he has no idea how a film is actually shot. And the his assertion that modern directors some how differ from others becuase they cut some film is off base. First, outside of a few rare cases, the intial cut (rough cut) of a film is done by the editor not the director. And most further refinement is done by either both or the editor. The idea that it's 1/10 of a film that doesn't make it is some random made up number. There's hundreds of hours of film that is shot that doesn't make the final cut (film lock). Most films have two or three units that shoot all day every day for months. The dailies for each unit are hours every day. So he's just not even close.

To me this is like if someone told a bricklayer the house he just built looks good even though it has 5 bricks in it. Even though it has 7000. Or a guy told a car designer his car only has ten moving parts. Or crap like that. It's so wrong the person should forever be required to raise his hand to speak about it again.

That's something I want Hot Toys to get into, more 1:1 stuff, although there will probably be restrictions with other manufacturers like King Arts and Imaginarium Art having the 1:1 licence.

Oh? I don't really watch that show :(
On the MK45: I hope that someone does a 1:1 scale prop helmet for this armor. The design is really nice. Instabuy

Would totally buy that although Id need it took look like polished metal and not just paint. One of the reasons I haven't bought any other IM busts. Perhaps a chromed faceplate for starters...

Honestly, the triangular window on the chest piece is what I hate most about it. I'm a circle fan on red and gold suits. :D I'm glad Joss went with what he did with the VII. But the VI is actually my least favorite suit. Though I don't mind the triangle on the Silver Centurion since that's just classic.

Why do people like the VI so much, anyways?

****, sorry for the double post.

While the Mark VII is bad ass and the Mark III will always be a nostalgia favourite I don't know how to describe it the Mark VI just seemed so sleek and its possible the triangle for me is a factor which pushes it the other way in comparison to the opinion of your good self. Also doesn't hurt that it was featured in some amazing action sequences; like or hate IM2 the HAMMER Drone battle and teaming up with War Machine was great to watch and the suit was used to great effect up until the battle of New York.

Maybe for me its partly down to liking the look of the Extremis suit too, which this one most closely resembles.

It will be interesting to see if hot toys can actually recreate this paint job, looks like a tall order to me!

I hope so, gifs like this really show how organic this suit looks, there must have been some intention to suggest the Bleeding Edge armour there even if they were undecided whether they would take it down that route... Maybe that is why we did not see a suit up scene, to leave it to the Russo's to decide how they want to take Iron Man further in their next 3 films.

Yeah you are probably the one who cut out all the extra scenes from the movies that ends up on the collectors edition DVD and Blu-Ray.

So what did you cut out from Age of Ultron?

It must be some good twenty minutes of action lost right there.

Lmfao. I like watching the arguing. It's fun.
At least it's something interesting as we wait for them to freaking announce this.

Right now I'm waiting to see what 45's cost will be and keeping fingers crossed for a diecast VI/ IV.

I came here looking for toys and got a physics and film editing debate. I love the internet. Anywho, I really like this suit. I don't have an Iron Man yet, so if this is plastic, it might be my first.

It's not really much of a debate; it's someone who understands how modern filmmaking and editing works and someone who obviously does not.

I'm a designer, but I work with and around film guys and I can tell you that yes, the ratio of film shot versus the amount actually used in the final product is ridiculous.
