Yeah I know but he still made it because his farther couldn't (limited by the technology of the time of course), anyway it's an impressive thing to be doing regardless. :)

:duff so was the miniaturized Arc Reactor

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS - Avengers: AOU - Hulkbuster

Just to add to the extremis discussion, there is nothing in the film that gives the impression that it has anything to do with tonys suits or how they work, including the mk 42. While the comics have a similar story, in the film its pretty clear that they are two separate plot points.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS - Avengers: AOU - Hulkbuster

W
whatever, this is for a movie armor so the comic lore means nothing to me in this context. especially when it comes to separating elements from the two, and most of all when its so loosely based on the comics, like in this case. If you choose to believe prehensile and extremis are the same, thats up to you... but it is definitly not the same thing at all in the MCU whether you want to believe it or not, and that's what matters to me. It will never be refereed to as extremis anything in the movie, so your explanations that it's the same are just ridiculous.

Also putting the word "right" in quotes as if to quote/talk down to me only works when I used that word, which I didn't... I said I wasn't wrong, and when referring to the movie, i'm not. If mixing elements from comics to the movies based on loose interpretations makes you feel smarter than others, more power to you. With that kind of ass-backwards logic, I might as well start calling comic book Killian the Mandarin. :cuckoo:

So not being wrong and being right are two separate things? I am starting to see where the disconnect is. Understanding of English.

Budget stark just used a word from one universe that means exactly the same in both. It is just called something else. Like some people say starboost and some Gemini. The extremis armor is a prehensile armor and vise versa. That's all that was said.

Again...he used one word. He didn't say the story was the same. He didn't say stark was injected with extremis. He used a word to describe the armor. I don't get why people are so stuck on that word. Replace extremis with prehensile and that's the same thing in comics. Replace prehensile with extremis and its the same thing in the movie. It's one word that is exactly the same. And the only reason it was changed in the movie was this exact issue. People getting caught up with the word. It's why it was changed.

All budget stark was saying is that HB was controlled and used exactly like the movie mark 42.

Which is exactly like the extremis armor in the comics. What's so hard about that?

You said you had no knowledge of the comics so how would you know the movie is "loosely" based on it. It could be nearly word for word.

Because you explained the differences to me, plus I have the internet and the ability to look it up for myself... I don't give a crap about what he meant or what you mean. Regardless of you using extremis as an alternate title for the armor based on it's similarities from the comics, I (as in, this is my opinion) feel that it's still inaccurate as the extremis in the comics was used for the suit to come to tony, as you explained... In the movie extremis has nothing to do with Tony or the process of the armor assembling remotely...calling it extremis armor is just wrong on that fact alone. YOU YOURSELF told me the differences, so how the hell is it the same thing? That seems like a very big difference to me. If Tony used some form of the extremis virus in the movie for his armor, I would completely agree with you. But since that IS NOT the case, I will never agree with you on this... It's not the comics, and as YOU explained to me is quite a bit different from the source material besides the armor coming to tony remotely.

Soooooo....yeah....the Hulkbuster armor looks pretty awesome....
I think I'm going to pass on the Igor armor in light of the Hulkbuster previews. Anybody else doing the same? Don't get me wrong, the Igor armor looks pretty kick-a$$ but the Hulkbuster is the freak'n Hulkbuster :lol

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS - Avengers: AOU - Hulkbuster

Igor is such an unusual armor, not only when it comes to color but when it comes to sculpt. But because of both cost and space limitations, not everyone can get both (I'm passing on Igor for HB).

me too, as much as I want Igor, its very expensive and I have too much on my plate as it is

I'm getting both thankfully, don't think I'd like to have chosen one over the other & I wouldn't of cancelled Igor to get the Hulkbuster figure but I did have a limit on what I'd spend on Hulkbuster before my dad said he'd buy it for me. :)

Well I suppose there's no pressure since HB isn't even up for PO yet and Igor is out soon... one could easily sell Igor if and when Hulkbuster comes out

My main problem with my collection is that I'll think about selling things to make space for new stuff I want but as yet I've never been able to part with anything other than Hasbro or Character Options figures..., I've been telling myself for well over a year now that it's time for my Kotobukiya & Sideshow figures to go as they are my least favourite collectibles but as yet thinking is as far as I've got. :)

I'm not just picky about what I have but also about how much of it I have. I've parted with/am parting with some really great stuff to make sure my *stuff* doesn't overpower my space; and what I'm left with is always my all-time favourite.

Even things I've loved like some of the customs I put time and work into ... I don't miss them when they're gone and I'm glad someone else is getting enjoyment from them.

Less is more. Of course, keep what you absolutely love but don't be afraid to let stuff go. 99.9% of the time you won't miss it.

I must admit that the displays I like the most in my collection are the ones with less on the shelves, the others where I've crammed loads on just to give them a home just don't look as good..., my Mythos & Attakus 1:5 scale statues are keepers, as is the Darth Malgus premium format, I don't want to part with my Gentle Giant mini-bust collection but other things like I said (Kotobukiya & Sideshow figures) plus my other premium formats could really be let go..., I think I'm just reluctant to start the culling as I probably won't stop once I get going. lol

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS - Avengers: AOU - Hulkbuster

I have always thought that the display environment is just as important as the collection.

A year ago we wanted a few die cast IM figures and now we are revisiting our bonus bedroom renovation to make an annex for our Hot Toys.

I'm just glad there will be room for everything we want and room for growth.

This hobby is very unforgiving.

Agreed on all counts. As a designer, my home environment means a lot to me and the toys are meant to accent the interior design with bits of pop and personality; my space isn't just a place to put things so I'm leery of encumbering it with too much.

My personal mandate is never more than 20 1/6 figures (and I'm happier closer to only a dozen). This is not to judge people who like more, that's just me.

As such (and as a relatively new collector) the collection is a living, evolving thing. I can
name three items/sets I don't intend to part with for many years...the rest could go at any time to make space or whatever.

At the end of the day it's just stuff anyway. That's why when people express being overwhelmed or burdened by what should be a fun hobby, as they do from time to time...I'm a big proponent of the purge. Only good comes of it.

I have a serious illness (obsession lol) and I have to get both. IGOR is supposed to arrive next month and I'm super excited for its arrival.

I'd love to buy 20 or 30 detolfs & house my collectibles in those, what fits stays, what doesn't goes..., I've gone from a 3 bedroom house to 1 room, when I had a whole house for my collection it looked far better than it does now, plus it was all displayed too (unlike now), I think I'll probably wait until I get my own place again next year & see what I want to part with once I set everything up then.
