Unless they have a surprise that they'll add to the figure before it ships then this is over priced compared to the other Marks.....HT's must have had a hard time making this suit.

I have placed my order. Although I think that it's ridiculous that it has this few accessories. Screw another arm or leg or whatnot. Make that a different figure, I say.

But it's my favorite suit and HT has me by the nuts on this.

I agree with you guys that that is the reason for the price increase.

Tough pill to swallow.

Over $200!!!!! I can't do it anymore (work one job that is) Now I need to start practicing, "Do you want fries with that?"

Well, sometimes folks cancel cause they have to. I did that with an item the other day. I meant more I can't blame Sideshow if they're seeing a consistent rise in order cancellations.

Cancellations are half SSC fault though, they have a very vague release date on products, i have three or more orders for 1st QTR, ones been delayed two are shipping at the same time and one can be any time between those three months, i usually have to cancel because SSC keeps shipping multiple product around the same time, i'll have the cash but not all at the same time,

Another thing that bugs me about this deposit business is that we had no notice that HT IM MK5 would be up for pre-order today, and with Kratos money beeing taken today i dont have enough to order right now so i have to leave it a few days, if this was an item expected to sell out straightaway i'd be screwed, in order for this deposit thing to continue they need to post notices on which products will require a deposit and when exactly they will be up for pre-order, so people can plan ahead, i can easily see exclusive going out of stock fast and if you havent got the money that very moment for the deposit, you're missing out.

End of rant

HT's getting greedy. They may have the more-complex suit alibi now, but within this year, all figures will probably cross the $200 mark.

Just so i'm not mis-understanding this, this deposit will be taken off the total price of the item when it ships right?

Thats what a deposit is, not a one -time payment and the full price of the item aswell, right??

So lets say i had to cancel i'd lose the $20 depoist AND have to pay a cancellation fee... That sucks it should be one or the other

Oh yeah the deposits info page states "Some of our larger prop replicas and unique art pieces, such as bronzes, require a non-refundable deposit because each of these items is custom made-to-order" HT's Iron Man figures are none of the above!

Is it just me or is the suitcase superfluous? I feel like yes, it's needed, but like, IF and only IF! This was a DX figure and it came with Stark in the racing suit. I mean I'd be perfectly happy with just the figure as a BD version sorta like the Mark III for the same price. I realize the RD was a bit much, but iono, just ranting. 209 for this is crazy.

You'll be charged $20 right now. Then the remainder when it arrives to the shop. Feels like in a way paying for customs.

I think you'll lose just the $20. I'm not sure though how this now works with 1/6 figures. I never even got an email saying when the pre-order would go up on the store. I just happen to check the site and there was the little square picture.

I thought that was the whole purpose of the newsletter signup. They tell you a day or two in advance before it goes publicly. Seems the newsletters are somewhat pointless now. If it shows up, it shows up.

Totally agree with you on the newsletter. I'm getting a little tired of items just showing up without notice.

Wow, it looks like the days of doing placeholder orders with SSC are effectively over. :( One of the few advantages of placing orders with SSC was the liberal no cancellation fee policy for preorders, but now that's out the window.

Also agreed on the newsletter--it's pretty much useless now.

they must be being more cautious on orders, they have a ton of stuff instock still, and ive seen their warehouse, its not that big, lol

Shipping is such a drag from, Toys2.

Canada Post Small Packets Air International ($47.92) No tracking.
Canada Post XPressPost International ($67.28)

$25.00 from Sideshow, with tracking.

$209 for a figure with basically one or two possible poses? What a freakin' joke! There's no head to sculpt and paint or likeness to license so they're saving money big time, and yet the figure costs $50 more than the Mark III did in 2008. At the rate Hot Toys is raising prices, the Avengers Iron Man suit will cost $400.

Maybe they've been watching the forums? when they pay $400+ for two figures with very little, why not bump it up $9 and so they keep pushing it. Lets do this in future, see how it goes!

There's definitely a tipping point and this figure might be it for me. If I can't find it for less than $200, I'm not getting it. Need to vote with my dollars as this is getting out of hand.
