Hes all factory BUT the pic was taken in a brightly lit room. (and Afro wax applied)

Okay, thanks. It does seem like pulling the hair away from the "locked down" factory setting it comes in does lighten it a bit. I noticed a few strands around the cheeks that were all dark suddenly seemed to have the slightly blonded look once I started to pull it away. And maybe the Afro wax holds it without darkening it again.

Uh-oh, something tells me I'm going to be getting a lot of angry PMs if this doesn't work out for you.... :D

He shall become... Chewblacula.:horror

^exactly..brush the hair out to lighten then slick back with some stone cold cool fro wax to style. You dig!?

p.s. the chin hair is fragile..be careful.

Did some more futzing with this (trying to go for more of an ESB look), and I tried a couple new things. I didn't like how the lower lip dipped down so much, since it's usually pretty flat across on the costume, so I warmed it up with a heat gun and pushed the lip up a bit. It's a pretty hard plastic so you don't really have to worry about it turning too soft.

And I also took some of the excess lighter hair from the feet, pushed it under the eyes, and draped it down more like it's supposed to. And then sprayed it with a bit of hairspray to hopefully lock it in place.

Oh and also, it appears the eyes are on stalks of some kind, so if you dig in a little tool or screwdriver you can push them out to the side a little more to remove a bit of the cross-eyedness (although not all of it unfortunately).

That's gorgeous! I'm definitely going to try to copy that look.

Body looks greatly futzed but his face looks a little wide. Almost fat. But that's just me. Great job at showing layers though. I like the ESB look.

Yeah you might be right. I keep going back and forth on how wide or large the overall head should be.

This is the look from ESB I tried to match as close as I could, where it did appear to me that the head was fairly wide. Of course when you do a side by side comparison of our figures and the real thing you quickly see how off many of the proportions are (the nose isn't large enough, the mouth too low, etc.), so you can never really get it that close unfortunately.

I really love this set. My main gripe are the bases, way too big and bulky. I think they draw too much attention away from the figures and just look ugly. I need to find a plain Hot Toys base for Han and Chewie.

If you don't want to draw any attention away from the figure, then go with a clear acrylic stand.

I have been re working my Chewbacca. I was trying for that ANH look I hope I achieved it. it`s still a work in progress View attachment 221250

The fur makes the head look pretty oversized there, bit like a lion - maybe all the fur needs some brushing back and patting down? The pic's a bit too small to tell.

But I love that Chewy head you made! Saved some pics of it.:clap

the thing is i didn`t make the head this is the HT Chewbacca . I know it looked over sized noticed it after I took the picture. and if you remember in ANH his mask changed a lot. and some times it did look like a lion mask like that scene at the end of the movie the celebration just before they walked down to collect there medals except for poor chewie :monkey2
