For $260 I am not seeing Chewbacca but rather something that looks like Chewbacca. Head looks huge, shoulders look small. For a guy who is only buying two HT this year (me) if that is how the production piece looks I will be the guy only buying one HT this year. And I do want to buy my two figures this year (Chewbacca & BD Robocop) .....

And I do want to buy two.....

No problem, get the Stormtrooper two-pack. Boom, done. Despite its quibbles, it has far fewer issues than anything else they've shown. Sideshow are rocking Star Wars this year, Hot Toys... Well... Meh. But they have a bunch of new Iron Men coming...

I gotta cut Chewie some slack. Not so long ago the discussion was whether he'd ever be made at all.

This. :lecture

I paid $250 for a custom Chewie that had 4 points of articulation and shed. While I'm not overly thrilled about the open mouth look I'll gladly pick this up and count my blessings.

I'm really really hoping they improve this... but I have a feeling I'll probably break down and buy it even if they don't. And then just hope I can somehow improve it on my own.

these are going to look amazing on my shelf! there will always be SOMETHING that could use improvement or tweaking. but to say these dont look good or are a miss? no way.

No way I'm passing on Chewie if he looks this good. There are definitely several improvements that could be made, some easy ones, but if that was on my shelf I'd be pleased. Han, not so sure.

I lowered Han's hairline, he doesn't look too bad once you do that.

Both look fantastic in my eyes. Sideshow can't do human's.

In the Star Wars universe, they currently do them better than Hot Toys. Time and again. :) I'm waiting for the first Hot Toys Star Wars figure with an unmasked face that looks anything like the actor. I'm only interested in aliens and helmeted figures from Hot Toys' Star Wars line. Chewbacca and Storm and Sand troopers right now.

In all honesty, I hope HT don't attempt a farmboy Luke and instead leave that up to Sideshow. Even better would be a collaboration with HT handling the base body and final production, but leaving the design up to SSC.

I guess somebody has to like Sideshow's work.

In regards to Farmboy Luke, I'll bet the upcoming SS X-Wing Luke portrait would look killer on the existing SS Luke!
