Just be happy we are getting a chewie. It is still better than most customs I have seen. The nitpicking is really silly IMO. I am just thrilled to finally get him.
Yep, agreed. We may never get a perfect one, anyway. Live for the moment and enjoy what's available instead of endlessly waiting for the next thing.

No, what's silly - is people whinging about folks giving critique.

You're making it sound like it's going to be the only one in the next 10 years, come on. :lol

They're all looking pretty close to the source material so far. :huh

Are you any happier with the second iteration of the Hulk than you were with the first? I can pretty confidently say you won't be with Chewie, either. I think his face is harder to capture than a human's, so I'm not at all sure when we'll get a version that looks like he walked off the screen. Personally I'll be very happy indeed to have this version until such time as a better one comes out and then replace it. It's not like you're committed to it for life. It's as well made as HT could do for right now and that's good enough for me.

Not a fan of either of those HULKs (are you surprised?). :lol

Yeah, it's a decent effort for a first time Chewie - more than decent, but not one I'll probably be buying.

My excitement for Chewie was low until I saw the close up of the blue eyes which brought the excitement and anticipation back. I think it looks great. Buy it now because if there is another down the road you will be paying a lot more. We all know that.

SS has almost every 1/6 SW character for sale or PO right now. Okay, well not EVERY character, but enough to need a substantial amount of cash to get them all at once. :gah:

I'm on the fence cause I'm literally broke... however if I get one and it sucks... I'm saving up to hire a panel of 3D sculptors for a chewie...

Haha, I know. I've seen your comments in both Hulk threads. :p

I think both figures are good illustrations of the limits of the hobby, at the moment, in terms of people being dissatisfied with any concessions to the medium (say visible joints on Hulk or perfect likeness for Chewie). I look at it like the Nexus-6 in Blade Runner. Not perfect but as well made as they could be for the time. :lol I could imagine you taking the lift up to Howard Chan's penthouse suite to confront him about your grievances with these figures. :lol

The more I look at that high res photo of chewie's face, the more I like it and can't wait for him to come out already. If that's how it looks with flash (always a little odd compared to normal lighting), imagine how it'll be under detolf lighting. :clap

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Invictus Sol again.

:lol Great analogy!

"I want more accuracy - ****er."

I'm thinking I should cancel one of my two PO'ed Chewies just to see it in-hand first. If this turns out... odd looking... then I'll have over $500 worth of odd-looking Chewies.

I don't know how one would go about fixing the eyes, but judging from the comparison pics by Anthrapoid (way) earlier in the thread a little darkening of the fur on the head and doing some touch ups to the lips will go a long way. Both should be doable even for a novice (I hope) in the case there is no tweaks made before release.
