I'm sure it's probably been referenced before here, but I just came across this guy's 1:1 ANH Vader and absolutely LOVE the job he did on him, especially with the paintjob. It may not be 100% accurate (it seems to be missing the reddish lenses for instance), but it's still really damn impressive.

And really shows how much difference a rough, beat up, and asymmetrical mask makes to Vader's ANH look.

One of the problems with the HT sculpt is not the asymmetrical 'cheek bones' but the fact that the triangular face plate doesn't jut out enough, which helped to make Vader more aggressive looking in ANH then in the other films.

Well, I'm not so concerned about scratches and dents and the brush-on paint job. They can save that for an exclusive. But... there are some things needed to make this top the Marmit, and the mentioned issues such as dome, chest box and height are definitely some of them. The chest box is supposed to be 2.8 mm in width and height and Vader in all his armor should not be above 13.5 inches in sixth scale.

Actually... injection molded gloss ABS plastic has about the correct color for Vader.

I'd say the leather suit needs a do-over as it never looked like rough leather in the movies. The problem with these figures is that the fabric they use to make them is way too thick for an accurately scaled down look, but I guess if they go thinner and accurate, they will be more prone to tear and damage.

This is the actual screen used suit worn by the guy they hired to go on tour.

I love the Kermit Eller pics... They have some great insights for ANH Vader should fit. I have found them invaluable for my own 1:1 ANH Vader project.

Dam I never realised it was definitely a 2 to 3 piece outfilt . Looks like a shirt with a vest over the top . I guess I wouldn't be bothered by that details because its covered by the shoulder /upper body armour.

But that is exactly how to body suit should look quilted and wrinkly , and should give off a space suit vibe, hot toys and sideshow are way off. The closest one is the 2009 Vader by SSC but its still not quite there.

I wish one of these companies would give us a good set of SCULPTED belt gloves. It's one of the GREAT things that Medicom did for their Vader and is my preferred pose.

For those who got the vader deluxe from Sidehsow , all you need to do is try and get the body suit from the 2009 SSC vader and you have PERFECT vader .

Sure it might not be new hope style , but it looks better than this Hot Toys one . The off thing about the hot toys one for me is the body suit is meant to be pleathery and soft and wrinkly . This one looks a bit weird ( maybe too ridigid looking ) . The closest one ive seen to an accurate body suit is the 2009 SSC Vader suit . Still, when it came to Amazing Spiderman 2 , everyone thought the suit would be vinyl like the proto pics, but it turned out the opposite.
The only think I like about the hot toys one so far , is the light sabre and boot shin guards. and maybe the gloves and High Quality engineering aspect of it .

That's fascinating. I see in that something that would have been considered good enough for Doctor Who or the New Avengers, and most of the Brits who worked on ANH probably thought at the time that it was going to be on a par with that show in terms of production values. It's just magical to think what Vader became when you consider his physical origins in Seventies Britain.

Bossk's suit was actually used in Dr. Who. Glad that was the only one ( that I know of).

The suit was formerly used in the Doctor Who four-parter, The Tenth Planet (1966).

But it wasn't a 'Doctor Who' costume as such, but a 1960s RAF High-Altitude Windak Pressure Suit, which gave it better production values.
