I really think just putting it on a shorter body would fix a lot of the problems we're seeing. There's be a lot less space between the armor, chestbox, and belt; and it would probably make the chestbox look a tiny bit bigger as well.

Well, it's the third Vader that's 14" in height. This has to be an official decision. There's no way it can be an accident - three times in a row?

My thought exactly. And i can get over that helmet. Anyone who says it looks good should have a good look at both sideshow releases. While they are not screen accurate at least i have a vader feel. This head looks like the artist took a look at a picture, lost it and then thought **** it and made it by memory. It is so symmetric and suprised that it does not capture the feel of any movie. Thinking about it perhaps the artist used an old marvel star wars comic to make this. Epic fail!

Sold my custom ANH vader when this was announced. This will be a day long remembered :/.

Is it just me, or have they gone back to using the same stiff cape we got with the old Sideshow ANH Vader? The shape of it and the way it hangs looks awfully familiar...

Best,

Robert

Unfortunately it's unlikely they'd ever try to duplicate the rougher paintjob and more beatup look of the actual helmet. They just wouldn't want to risk turning off customers who either didn't know any better, or who just happen to want a much more sleek and shiny Vader.

Put it on the box clearly. They could sculpt in the brush strokes. That way they can spray paint it with the desired effect!

For cheaper figures, like Asmus' Morgul Lord, I don't mind swapping a body but it would bug me with a $300.00 ($360.00 CAD) Darth Vader. Plus, this body's a custom, in a way, due to the sound feature. I'm assuming the chest box is where one would activate it, so it may be integrated, somehow. Lastly, the armour might lose a bit of proportion going to a smaller body.

Ah, lol. Got a feeling this height is mandated or something from LFL. I'd be really surprised if HT shortens it but here's hoping.

I don't think it's mandated. I just think they're getting their figures from the wrong place or didn't do enough research or something. Or they heard that he's "close to 7 feet tall" and thought that meant 7 feet exactly.

I'd say that HT matched the height of Vader compared to Chewie and the others pretty well based on the reference material they were using:

That's what I keep coming back to. My plan right now is to have high end figures of the group above but switch out the jawa for Yoda, DS Commander for Fett, and the Sandperson for Ackbar (if and when he gets made.)

I wish they'd make Tarkin, that would be a good swap for DS Comm.

That line-up is good for ANH. I actually would like a Sandperson and a Jawa. Just Tarkin instead of Kenner's replacement character. Not sure why they didn't make Tarkin -- something was up. Maybe Lucas didn't like Cushing.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Tarkin is such an over sight. I need him on my shelf.
