Going solely by the photo above, if I was looking for an unmodded, out-of-box Vader this would be it. I've said that before...whatever is wrong with this thing it's still going to be the best mass-market release.

If not, I'd do a kit-bash using both SSC Vaders, and/or Kaiyodo parts...or just drop a bunch of cash on a Hurricane, assuming the opportunity was there.

I'm really glad I PO'd this back in December. Based on this photo and the one JC posted of the mass production sample it's def good enough for me

Not really, i always liked vaders helmet in ESB a lot. As for the bellyaching comment i think for 300$ ht should be bring their "A" game and so far i'm not that impressed.

This figure has "evolved" - somehow - over the months and various shows. It looks good, then terrible (didn't you yourself have a chuckle at how Vader looked at SDCC?), then decent, then just okay... even the too-tall height seems to have been corrected for the first time in the Ani-con display. So this "just move on" thing isn't really fair.

And there are people on these boards that know Vader's mask better than HT or SSC ever will. This figure has looked a little off since day one, and HT obviously monitors feedback somehow otherwise Ben and Han wouldn't have changed. So negative feedback (and perhaps the more the better) can yield positive outcomes.

Everyone in the Leia and Luke threads are suitably impressed because there's a consensus that those are nailed or very close to it - which is what HT wants to see. If there's a problem, where the consensus is mostly negative - like with Vader, Han, Chewy and Ben - I'm guessing they want to hear it.

So if you like it then say so - as many times as you like. Same for others who don't like it. It's the "stop disagreeing with me because it gets boring - to me!" thing and the "others like you!" accusations that actually gets boring.

Agreed but from another angle it looks off. Strange and I can't put my finger on what is "off" about it. Like others, gonna have to wait for youtube reviews.

I get people dont want to hear what think and get tired of complaining but c'mon this thing is 300$. I mean i feel like HT should be trying their best to get him to look as good as possible, maybe not perfect but really good looking. I feel like they are not trying though, its like they have changed a little bit here, a little bit there, but they are not really doing to the best of their ability to get it truly good looking. I mean if this were any other character other than darth vader and they were charging that price for this level of quality, i would say hell no!

Ok i said my peace and wont complain anymore if i can help it, i will just wait and see hwo this turns out later.

That's the best pic i've seen so far and despite a few nickpicks with the helmet that looks excellent! The new paint apps and the body swap really improve this vastly.
