I've always liked the ANH version best.
I like the brutish, medieval look of Vader in that.
But I think most people favor the ESB look.

I've gone back and forth on that one, just like I have on those first two films...but when push comes to shove I'd have to say ESB Vader. If only because of his murderous command style and many one-liners in the film, plus his masterful style during the duel on Bespin. He was a little more moustache-twirling, tie-Leia-to-the-railroad-tracks in ANH. More of a Bond villain in ESB.

Finally pushed the button and pre-ordered this guy.
Faith in Star Wars HT is restored after seeing Chewie coming to life with some futzing!

Love ANH Vader for all the reasons above. He looked angrier.

ANH Vader all the way. That guy really looks like he wants to start a fight and you don't want to be anywhere near when it happens. You can still see that the dome is shiny (despite what people have conditioned themselves to believe later) but it's a little dirty. ANH Vader didn't have time to sit in his meditation chamber polishing his armor. He was busy going around kicking ass.

ESB does have better angry Vader lines - "-Bring my shuttle" :rock - and stuff, but the helmet and overall look is better in ANH.

I'll pick up this guy and just tuck his robunderneath his shoulder armor like I did the original SS version:lol I'm not a sucker for every fine detail like most.

On that note, I will still buy an ESB/ROTJ version because shiny is best:lol I've always found it cool that he was able to keep shiny, in such a "used universe".

I get more of a feeling that Vader was on the back foot in star wars, scrambling to fix a **** up. Then having to defend the Death Star personally.

Even though they lost the death star, the empire was in a comfortable position the next too movies, so Vader was relaxed and omnipotent = badass.

My thoughts exactly!

I still prefer the way Vader looks in ANH, but that's a pretty good way of looking at it. Vader's last ANH scene in his Advanced X1 isn't exactly a graceful exit.

'Apology accepted, Captain Needa' in ESB is one of my favourite SW lines.

How could anyone go wrong with either ANH or ESB Vader? :dunno

Right? Vader is Vader. Even this version...
