1/6 Hot Toys - MMS 279 - Star Wars Episode IV: 1/6th scale Darth Vader

well got the helmet off of my vader. the is a big square in the middle of the head sculpt. so I guess if you can smooth the inside of the helmet it might lower it a bit. looks almost like the dlx vader dome did when you took it off

How did you get it off? Did you just pull really hard or is there anything else to it?

I havn't done any modding to Vader, but I wasn't satisfied with the cape and tunic, so i used my old Lforigno custom gear. Beautiful figure, best Vader yet for sure!

yeah the cape is too big. anyway how did you the arms down? what's the trick?

I'm interested to know too. from what you said It sounded like the dome was pegged to the head.

Hey guys! So here in my Vader! Other than the voice feature which based on the stories and my own lack of desire to tear the figure apart this guy is awesome! Has a real presence in person. So I'm planning on buying both Vader and Luke today and Sideshow and I've heard they're both shipping in batches? It's not a wait list thing, right? It'll just take a little longer for Sideshow to receive their stock and ship it to me.

I think this Vader looks amazing but I'm still "barely" holding out for the ESB or RotJ version.

I figure that HT will have solved the issue with the ridiculous electronics by then. An ESB or RotJ Vader is the version that I want more, as I don't want several Vaders in the collection.

But most of my figures are ANH... ughhh...

I think Luke is in stock now at SS. Vader is listed as a pre-order but could always still sell out--last I heard it was "soon" for his arrival from SS though retailers like BBTS have him in stock.

If you're in Cali, tax and shipping will likely nullify any rewards points you'd get from this figure. BBTS has very cheap shipping options. Something to look into.

Nice pics, all - yeah, really prefer the SSC Robe for Obi-Wan here....

I do like the color of the SSC Obiwan robe more but the HT has better fraying. You wanna sell me your HT robe?

Vader's tunic just doesn't drape that well and I might just remove the wire for a change.

Okay, I might just order Vader and Luke from BBTS cause the tax at Sideshow is just ridiculous.

Got my copy yesterday. Out of the box, so many things bugged me. Took forever to place those small batteries into the belt boxes, and then put the two boxes closer to the buckle. And then it is so hard also to switch out the arm coz the sleeve is way too tight that I cannot find any gripping spot to pull the elbow out. Finally got the arm out and put the light up arm in and then realized I forgot the glove!!! Now I kinda see why those guys in that video just gave up and review a completely messed up set up, coz at that point, I almost wanna give up too! So after all that, I did not even bother powering up the voice box. No way I am going to go through with completely stripping this to just make him "speak" for 15 minutes. Took some getting used to so I can feel out where the light saber button is under the glove to turn it on and off. But honestly, after all the futzing, this one is probably the best looking Darth Vader out there!
