Nice post sogs - thanks for saying it perfectly. Your post helped me realize I actually loved the movie.

One problem I have though...

does this version of Spider-Man not have a spidey sense? He didn't seem to have one and relied on the suit for intel - the only thing that really stood out for me

Good catch. I loved the movie and didn't notice that there were no "MY SPIDER SENSE IS TINGLING" moments.

I think you mean SoGS post that you liked? I did find this story talking about the Spidey sense

Feige has said "I think he has it", so don't rule out seeing it in the future, but the Stark-tech did seem to take front stage this time at times...

I think the suit is the answer here. The suit is too busy talking to him and warning him about things, his Spider Sense didn't even need to function. Hopefully it will perk up again once he's out of the Stark suits. Or if they keep him in them, the Spider Sense could start reacting even faster then the suit and manifest that way. They certainly need to address it in the future films, but with that Stark suit being all over the place after taking the training wheels off, its easy enough to keep it out of this film and not really be a retcon in future films when it shows up. Or they could always make his powers 'evolve' and the Spidey Sense is one of those improvements?

Maybe I'm remembering wrong, but I believe he uses the Senses in Civil War when Bucky tosses the debris at him in the airport. So it does seem to canonically exist even if it wasn't as obvious in Homecoming.

I would have considered getting this suit if there was more to it than being just a legit repaint. For instance if this suit could open up to reveal an empty inside like in the scene when Tony steps out of it then this would have been an easy sell.

But alas, it's only a mere repaint.

So, meh! Pass! :wave

I think if I really want this variation in my collection, the power pose one will suffice.

After passing on the 46, I'm going to get this one. I like the accessories it comes with, the clean head sculpt, and the stand. Maybe they will also improve the quality control on this version after seeing all the issues popping up with the 46. I do agree they missed an opportunity to include a black suit outfit considering they're including sunglasses for some reason. But then they might've needed to bump it into a DX set and charged more.

After enjoying the movie and Spider-Man being my favorite Marvel character, I may order this to have a complete Homecoming set.

You remember correctly. Feige also said that they are going to work it in more subtly because it was done so blatantly in last movies.

I could swear there's a part on the ferry where you see the same kind of subtle hint that he has it. I have to keep an eye out to confirm when I see it again

Yknow I find it kinda cool that we've finally made it all the way up to mark 47, the rumoured number for months of the suit from iron man 3. Every time I think "Mark 47" the mark 42 still pops up in my head.

I still favor the Mark XLVI over this suit, but their creative use of the different shades of silver paint on this, plus the sheen, give it a unique look. When this was first announced as a Marvel Legends figure, it really turned me off, but Hasbro frequently takes bad product photos. In hand, the 6" version has a better paint job than Hasbro's previous 6" version for Civil War. I saw the Spidey/Iron-Man two pack at Toys R Us the other day and almost bought it.

Maybe the main gripe about this suit is that the paint makes it seem like an armor that was only half-painted, and therefore, unfinished. At any rate, I still dig it and the die-cast is always a plus for me.
