I'm definitely getting this version, but it has certainly ensured that I will not get the whole line.
I'm gonna hold off on ordering for a couple weeks, buy a Visa card with $215 on it and use that so its already paid for. I wish SSC took paypal.

Actually Two recycled shields (no R&D costs there) and a gun nobody is going to use

I'm not defending HT, really I'm not. The increases have been pretty crazy. But in The Avengers version, we are getting an extra shield and head sculpt. That is probably worth the extra $45 bucks(at least in parted out cost). And if you just want the Cap figure, sell off the head sculpt and extra shield. The price won't be such a hard pill to swallow. The only way people can let HT know that the prices are too steep is to not buy the figures. Which you would think they would be starting to get, since a lot of figures are still around long after release (CA:TFA I'm looking at you)

Since more and more figures are hanging around after release, raising prices isn't smart, if they can't shift them at those price what makes them think they'll sell this any better, not to mention the TFA will get even less orders now as they've made "the next version" their strategy.

I like to keep all of my figures complete, but you guys do make a lot of sense. You could probably sell the clean shield for $20-$25 and the non helmet HS for $40-$45. This would essentially bring the total cost down to $155 for the figure you want. If you decide to sell the BD shield, you should get more, maybe $40 for it instead of selling the clean one. Which would bring the cost down to about $135.

New Goblin was a recent release, had 2 heads, and the cost was $170. He also had some fancy accessories.

I guess my POV is that this seems like a demand-driven price increase more than a cost-based increase. It is what it is.

Yeah, I am really having to cherry pick nowadays. And also, trying to future forecast what is coming out in the next year so I make sure and get what is a priority.
