Jesus, lots of angry elves in this thread since I last popped in! Ah, I missed all the fun. :lol

So obviously I missed this figure as well. It looks great but I'm not getting any more IM stuff. Anyone like to summarise in a sentence or two what went down? Why is everyone so pissed?
:dunno

I heard that they didn't take international orders, which I find highly unacceptable considering SS actively pursue international customers with everything else, thats just a big FU to anyone who has been supporting them outside of US. And it doesn't matter the reasoning behind it, just very bad PR.

pissed at a surprise email at 5pm eastern last friday saying 'BUY NOW'. many including myself were caught with our pants down and missed out. i was around my computer for the previous two weeks for most of the time except sleep. i went out to dinner and returned to find it sold out.

as far as international, i believe their sideshow's license agreement prevented them from selling outside the US. i'm going to use the line that's always jammed down my throat every time i've complained about sideshow anything.....

they've got a business to run.

They should stop advertising that 5% cashback when you can't use your rewards points on more than half of their items.

Ok, this became the "Trash Sideshow" thread. I'll be back in July to see the reviews for this figure.

I'll make sure not to let the door hit me on my way out.

HT set the rules, as they need to divide them equally per country/distributor. Its not up to SS to decide.

That's not true. It's gift cards you're limited on what you can use them for. There are very few items that reward points can't be used for.

Yep that's so stupid. It's a friking gift card! I tried to use a $30 gift card that i got from best buy avengers blu ray/DVD promo. I couldn't used it on any avenger figures! They show you a list of stuff u can use gift cards only on. So lame.

Gift cards are for items hanging around in stock and arne't wanted as much as newer items.

Reward Points can't be used on items with free domestic shipping unless you order over the phone and veto the free shipping option

I solely bought this figure to flip for profit. I have other figures on order and the BD Mark VII will definitely help pay for one. Not my problem if someone doesn't like this. It makes sense to me. Why should I spend money that know I don't have to?

At least you are honest. Nothing more annoying than someone announcing immediately after this sold out that they bought two and they "might" not be keeping the second one. After a few minutes this person immediately begings trying to solicit offers from members. This person clearly bought it to flip but was not up front about it.

Well it is really, it's their own loyal customer base that they are going to hack off by suddenly not allowing international orders. Hot Toys may call the shots but if SS are happy to go along with that then they have to take responsibility for that fallout. It's their call at the end of the day to agree to HT's terms and decide to sell these.

I hate that "pass the buck" "we only work here" type of attitude.

That's why I'm pissed at them but it's okay because according to Nova buying the Redsnapper is the same thing so I should be thankful for that :cuckoo: :slap :cuckoo:

Hot Toys is releasing so many Iron Man figures yet the one figure that looks the best (IMO) is very limited and hard to buy. Crazy!

:exactly::goodpost:

But hey at least we can buy some **** looking ones instead, what are we moaning about eh :slap

So Sideshow should refuse to sell this. They should just screw everyone instead of risking annoying anyone who might not get one? People need to grow up.

Has anyone even hinted that?

All people who were not allowed to order one are asking is they were informed from the start that this would only be for sale for people living in the US before getting everyone to sign up to their news alert. Already I've missed out on at least one UK seller who was taking PO's for this because stupidly I wanted to buy through Sideshow. I wont be making that mistake again :lecture

If I can't have it, then no one should have it:pfft:...:rotfl...It's not fair. Bobby got one. Why can't I have one?:pfft:....I want it NOW!....:lol:rotfl....

That is about what all this amounts to...a very sad statement on a spoiled I should get what I want society.

I am of course assuming that all of us on here are adults, since it is a spoiled child for sure that can afford 200-400 dollar action figures.

Now I hope we can get back to discussing this figure soon.:peace

I think international customers have a valid complaint with regards to the pre-order of this figure, but I also don't think that was Sideshow's call.

Hot Toys dictates where their products may be sold and Sideshow is merely a distributor. Hot Toys obviously had very specific plans, for whatever reasons, for this figure.

From the original press release:
"For overseas Fans, this Collectible Figurine will be available for special promotions in specific markets."

I don't think you have a grasp of how sole agent/distributor agreement work?

They are usually divided by territories/countries, and the said distributor are only allowed to sell/ship their stuffs on their respected country. This is done so that it's fair for the distributors, as they normally have order quotas from manufacturer. its also to control the quantity and pricing system. E.G. a pack of Marlboro cigarettes cost less than $2usd in Indonesia, while the same product cost bout $10usd in Singapore.
