Isn't the whole reason they pull pre-orders down due to the fact that, more often that not, by the time the item ships it's past the time window to file a complaint?

i provided links the other day. it's a federal crime to sell something you do not have in your possession on ebay, take the full amount for the item, and not ship within 30 days. that's why it's also ebay's policy. i'm surprised they allowed so many to be sold.

It's also the policy for most credit cards that any sale must be shipped within 30 days. I'm not sure if there is a legal reason behind that.

Pfft. Limited to 800 pieces worldwide.
We know it's at least double that, not taking into account the US release.

I wouldn't be surprised if there's at least 3,000 here alone.

Anyway.....I can't go through all this thread again, but didn't someone post a pic of an exclusive helmet that was suppose to come with the Red Snapper Armour?

exactly my point. to pre-order this on ebay, you'd need deep pockets and a huge leap of faith. but a moot point now that ebay will only allow auctions with a deposit. balance due before shipping. to be honest, that is the correct way to allow these sales. that way if the guy scams you, you only have to worry about a deposit.

Ebay honestly doesn't like pre-order listings for the very reasons we are indicating here. Unfortunately man they can't police everyone, so that is why they ask for reports on suspicious listings and or buyers.
Look, the best idea I can offer for scoring one of these is 1st get on the wait list. It may not convert, but being on it never hurts. 2nd, just wait until this figure is shipped and released and then I am sure there will be legit listings for it on Ebay. Unfortunately the prices are still going to be high. 3rd and last thing is at the point other Freak members get theirs, there should be some legit members willing to sell one or trade one for a decent deal. Just make sure that the transaction is fair on both sides.

You and I posted a while back the the best and biggest scalpers are always the fans and collectors themselves.

I think it's shady too, but it is jut part of the problem with this hobby. You have high demand and short supply for a luxury item none of us really need.
We stroke our own egos when we obtain one, but the reality is that we the fans are what breed the scalpers.

It's like drug dealers. There wouldn't be any if there were not drug users.

It sucks and is a ****ty thing, but it is reality.

Wowsers! What a post! :goodpost:

Yes. I don't know if its going to be available through SS yet, so far it was posted in conjunction with an Asian store's PO I believe.

Yup what he said^^^

It's going to be some type of event promotion I believe in Asia so the only people getting it are those who will be there in person from what in understanding.

Check the Snapper thread. That one is a lot easier to sift thru then this one :lol. I think that answer is within the last 2-3 pages

Again, not my selling bud.

I only have two from SSC which I listed one today but it got yanked. The other ones indicate from HK, mine indicated from SSC. He's even a member over on the OSR facebook.

If this greedy flipper did not conspire to order more than one some deserving members who just wanted one for their collection would have gotten it. This guy went from "I bought two but I might not keep one" to I am selling both. As a matter of fact if you check his post history he was trying to sell this within minutes of the sellout.

Greed, and Desire creates Pimps and Whores. Do your best to avoid both.

Guy's I am sorry to have drug this already decrepit thread through the mud again, but I saw his listings over the last week and matched up their ID.

Again, I do not have a problem with them selling them for whatever the price. If there is a willing buyer, then it's valuable enough for them.

I was upset this person was caught in a lie and changed their ID profile and lied to everyone. Had they been straight up and said yep that's me I would have let it die. They called me basically delusional, so I felt the need to expose them.

I have no doubt his listings for 10 BD mark vii's on eBay is what brought down the house of cards. If people are pissed and think I was childish, sorry. I think people can get taken advantage of all the time and if I can stop it once and a while it is a good thing.

My big question is all of the money they got for these, can they deliver all of the product?

CSI: Sideshow Freaks is over.

If you've unearthed an untrustworthy forum member I think everyone will have appreciated your efforts tbh

I was lucky to score one of these and that is enough for me. I would have been disappointed if I missed it, but I would not be willing to pay too much more then retail in the aftermarket. There are some nice MarkVI's standard versions going for 400-500 bucks and some Avengers Exclusive ones going for 600-700 bucks. They are sweet and great looking, but that is just too high of a price to me for those figures.
I am definitely not knocking anyone who would pay this either, as value is in the eye of the individual.
I am just stating an opinion. I hope others are able to get one of these if they can at a decent deal later. If not there will always be something new and fresh coming later, so don't be too disappointed.:)

I for one am glad you pointed this out. Like I posted with you earlier, some of the shadier scalpers out there are actual collectors and fans.
I actually feel he should not have listed anything until he had them in hand though. It is against Ebay policy and is a scam to the buyer to sell **** you don't even have yet and don't even know when your getting.
We need more folks like you on here that are just straight up.

Be interesting to see if ThatIsTooReal is ever going to post again or just log on to lurk around. Would probably create a new account along with a new email and try to be more careful and we wouldn't know its him.

Lets just end the nonsense and go back to the figure. Do any of you plan on using the regular mark vii parts (like sculpt and backpack) on this guy. I think the bdbhs is better suited for the regular mark vii.

Knowing there could be people on this forum who'd rather sell figures to random strangers for a high price than try and help out a fellow boardmember... Man. :slap
