The main practical advantage to diecast figures for me is that they have the button on their butts that enable them to achieve the classic landing pose.

Is this something they could do with plastic armors I wonder...

That said, gimme a plastic 45 ha

Same here, I would rather figures which have the possibility of flight poses seeming my next two Iron Men are of the Die Cast variety and the possibility of a DC Mark VI in the future is the only way I am picking up that suit (not spending the the prices some are asking for for an older suit with known fade issues, plus I would rather cross my fingers for an accurate "reindeer games" one in terms of weaponry).

Be it 100% plastic or some metal content I will still consider the 45, even if that would number 5 Iron Men in my collection already, the suit is just gorgeous even if I know for a fact if the 46 is in any way similar to the concept art that will make it onto my shelves too.

Does anyone know if this is definitely coming? I preordered the mark 43 but if the 45 is coming I'll cancel and wait.

Reindeer games diecast Mark VI would be amazing.

I just had the art book delivered...it's an absolute travesty this suit wasn't in the film more! There were so many good shots of the VI and VII in Avengers :gah:

Once they've sold enough 43s they'll probably announce this. My guess would be that the proto is already made, they're just waiting it out to avoid everyone cancelling the 43.

They can't leave it too long though as we're now less than a year from Civil War and the Mk46 etc...

Glad other people agree... such a great entrance and the Mark VI looked amazing all through that movie, although for a time VII took my top spot I think VI is my current favourite (but I still will not justify buying one on the secondary market)

I really need to start picking up the Marvel Art books, thumbed through some of them a handful of times, some great alternative designs for all the MCU heroes not just Shell Head; there was one in IM3 which looked like Silver Centurion and the 42 had a baby... had a look I really liked.

I think in the US and especially European markets there is a strong chance of cancellations of the 43 never mind the 45 with the way some collectors minds work. Hope the final suit lives up to the hype already generated by the released concept art.

With these modern directors one tenth to a fifth of the movie ends up on the cutting room floor and maybe many years later on some Directors Cut DVD or Blu-Ray if you are lucky.

I have a hard time suspending disbelief when all of the pieces comes flying thru the air like that. What exactly propelles all of the individual pieces thru the air like that. Does each piece have a build in jet engine or something?

:exactly:

That's what makes the earlier IM films more appealing for me, the technology is advanced but it's still limited in how fantastical it is and has more real world limitations.

:goodpost:

The flying armor bits were introduced in the craptacular Iron Man Three: Lethal Weapon 2 and like everything else in that film the concept sucked the root. The Mk. 5 suitcase suit was as far as the suspension of disbelief could be stretched, imo.

And after Favreau carefully (and brilliantly) grounded Stark's tech in a very real-world feel, it's a pure facepalm as to why Marvel would devolve the armor into Saturday morning cartoon stupidity. Funny how Marvel's turn towards the inane coincided with their control by Disney . . . :pfft:

Good point. The flaps offer great poseability but are a bit of an eyesore.

Just saw the movie for the 4th time. I think it just gets better with each viewing. I'd still kill for a Mark 45 suit-up scene. It's going to be hard to resist that figure.

Noticed for the first time that Natasha calls IM "Shellhead" near the end of the movie ... pretty sure that's the first time we hear that in the MCU.

I've seen it twice now in dbox. It truly is an amazing movie. I agree about the suit up sequence. I'm curious as to how it was supposed to work. And the mark 7 suit up was one of the best parts of avengers 1. Definitely best suit up yet IMO. It was sort of equal to the badassery of
ultimate Ultron ripping ultron prime apart
