No way Hayden should have ever been in ROTJ.

i thought lucas didn't go far enough with inserting hayden into ROTJ. i think he even should of removed the battle damaged sebastian shaw and digitally inserted hayden into the un-masking scene too. :chew

I don't know by the time that happens he wouldn't look the same even being all burned. So I would be against that change but I really have no problems with the Hayden being inserted into the Ghost scene. I mean the last time Vader was Anakin Skywalker he was a young man and it ties the two together which it should.

...or the DVD's may skip you.

the article i read said all three movies are being sold individually, will cost $30 each, and will only be sold for a few months.

So be it, Jedi... :emperor

If Georgie wants $90 bucks for these, I'll be doing the Chewie Skip for sure...:chew

EDIT: Tom that was brilliant! :D

I totally agree. I also think Ewen should have been added as Obi at some point and then joined by Leeum as sort of a curtain call. Maybe after Luke turns away from the ghosts Anakin would have turned to see Ewen and then is joined by Qui-Gon.

The originally deleted scene with Jaba visiting Han at the hangar bay should have remained deleted. That was bad. Real bad. Jabba looks terrible and the whole scene just doesn't work.

That's true. Jabba would kill anyone foolish enough to step on his tail. Instead it was all looney toons. WTF?!

One good thing: it was like an innoculation for Jar Jar. So I never minded Jar Jar like everyone else did.

Though it was never a deleted scene. It was unfinished before the release so it was never used. I'd like ILM to go back and fix it so that Han can pass in front of Jabba and take out the tail-stepping gag. Surely ILM can swing that believably by now. Or else cut away for a reaction or something.

I always thought it would have been more effective to establish Boba Fett as one of Jabba's cronies as a cut-away while Han did an OSM to Jabba's otherside instead of having BF just walk on at the end after the scene is ended. Kills two birds etc...

Jabba was originaly human in that scene. That's the only thing that really bothers me about it. Jabba looks too CGI there. And damn did he ever put on some pounds in the next couple years. Richard Simmons should've been one of his dancers.

Yep, and we are painfully reminded of that when Han calls him one. :google :monkey2

This is a funny story. I have to admit that I was one of these people he talks about.

With this move, Lucas has managed to surprise absolutely nobody except for a few clinically credulous people who actually believed Lucas when he said, "There is no way I am releasing the original film versions on DVD ever, seriously. I'm not going to do it, so you may as well go buy all the versions I am releasing, because there's no reason to suspect that you're just going to have to buy them again when the original versions come out on DVD in late 2006. Believe me here. If I'm lying, you can make me eat a llama."

So does he have to eat the whole llama or just part of it?

Does anyone know if Fox studios has giving their HD DVD allegience to either Sony or Toshiba? I know that New Line has an agreement with Toshiba so that means the LOTR movies will only be for the toshiba player and not on the Sony or PS3. If Fox goes with Toshiba as well, screw Sony.

this is somewhat sad. Its obvious he's getting everything he can out of the fans before the DVD format change.
.. and of course, I'll be in the line with everybody else to pick these up.

guess it costs an arm and a leg to keep your hair that thick.

Here's a helpful page that breaks down where the studios line up with the high definition DVD formats:

https://www.thedigitalbits.com/articles/hdformats/highdefreleases.html

Twentieth Century Fox is expected to support Sony's Blu-Ray, not HD-DVD, but they haven't announced any titles yet.

Thanks dude. Well based on that information, it looks like all the movies that I would want in HD would be released via the Blue-Ray, possibly the HD DVD. Hmmmmm......... maybe I'll be getting a PS3 after all. I still need to see the movies that I'd be getting these for announced (LOTR(New Line), SW (FOX), and Harry Potter, to name a few but an important few.

HD-DVD players are already out. i've seen them on display at best buy for $500. the picture quality is amazing.

the blu ray players are supposed to be out in a month or so and cost about $1,000 from what i've read.

i'm not getting either untill the industry settles on one format and the price drops at least 50%.:chew (plus i don't have a hi-def TV, so getting a player would be pointless right now)

i imagine lucas will wait untill there is a hi-def format winner before he puts the trilogies out in this format.:emperor

Yup,

I bought my HD-DVD player last month. There are not too many titles out so far but the picture quality is awesome. It's similar to DirecTV or Comcast HD material but no artifacts at all.

As for BD, their first player is supposed to be released next month. It is $1000 though. I will probably wait for the PS3 and use it as my BD player. It will retail for $600 (make sure you get the upgraded version of the PS3 if you are going to use it as BD movie player).

Since FOX supports BD, we would see the Star Wars trilogy on BD and not HD-DVD (for now at least).

Who knows which format will win, that's why I am buying both.

Well we don't all have that kind of coin layin around but I hope that the HD DVD drive for the XBox 360 is really cheap as that will be my HD player. Still undecided on the PS3.

Rumor is the HD-DVD drive for the 360 will be around $150-$200.

That said, no one even knows how good of a "movie" player the 360 or PS3 will even be.
