I've used a carefully cut out piece of plain printer paper in my Mark VI. Particularly with the Mark VI it diffuses the light better to fill in the triangle.

I used toilet paper behind the chest armor and behind the face mask

These are great mods and generally needed, as the chest LED seems as bright and deadly as a Class 3 laser. The instructions even warn about potential eye damage!

The problem with this mod on the Mk. 5 is that the plastic housing around the chest RT is fixed: the swappable chest armors have the circle cut out, so there's no double pane to hold the diffusing paper.

I'd like a mod with a spliced-in rheostat . . . but truthfully I use the light-up function only rarely.

Exactly. I noticed this also. Not sure how to get around this one.

And the beauty of this mod is that the chest light (and the Mark VI removeable facemask) somewhat appears to be lit even when the light is off, since it is still bright white.

I don't what is so hard for HT about thickening those necks...and proportions on some of the IMs...hopefully they will eventually get it right.

or just remove one battery, 3v... is much dimmer than 4.5v

Yeah, and it's less that the neck is really thin so much as it tapers into the head, so unless the head is seated down hard on the neck it looks really skinny. Likewise when the head is seated down on the neck like that you loose a lot of range of movement.

At least with the previous releases, as said don't have my V yet. Still waiting on BBTS who have charged but not shipped yet.

Regarding the lights, I guess that's why the SS statues are just white in the arc area?

I think it's more because they're statues.

Oh, I thought I had finally come upon a real reason why they're just white :lol. I actually like them better that way. The reactors can't be seen when they're lit up anyway. On the HTs you can still see the arc details when the lights are on. I guess I'll try the mod you guys have been discussing.

Thanks for enlightening me. /corny

Statues for whatever reason tend to have a lack of complexity to them. Not a lack of detail necessarily but complexity.

got my mark 5. For everyone who has theirs in hand. I have some discoloration on the two arms. i went through the pics online to see if this was supposed to be normal but it's the first of my marks to have the faded color look already. Is it normal or should I try for a replacement?

Don't be so silly...I received 2 of them and they didn't have any QC issues at all.

They actually feel a lot more solid than the IV and VI.

I love 'em to bits!!!

Mine is exactly the same.

Reread this post.

I was actually just reading that post and I see what he meant on the left wrist and the right shoulder pad is the carbon effect and that is what it should look like and i can let that go; but the other areas is just a solid overspray. If you look at the left bicep, the whole area is that dull color.

Aside from that, i like the figure. There are more articulation in places i did not expect. Still wish it had a stark head, though.

Butters - your 2 copies doesn't have as much overspray as mine?
