Someone suggested that side muzzle shot was photoshopped? Nope. That was sent to me by a friend that attended SDCC.

Here's my photoshopped version (on left) compared to how it actually is (on right).

There's the the chewie we know and love. Just one thing is throwing this sculpt off. HT must of worked this out by now?

I tried a little futzing myself...

Maybe I can use Chewy to finally make a Teen Wolf bash.

Who will be the first to give their Chewbacca a facelift?

I don't have much affinity for the character and won't be buying it; or I would attack it with an X-acto blade, power tools and glue. Without seeing the way it's constructed I can only speculate, but if you can take that surface fur/mask whatever off the underlying snout sculpt, it can be reshaped through cutting and maybe grinding with blades and a rotary file tool...and the soft goods trimmed and/or re-positioned.

It's totally do-able in theory, contingent upon how the face is actually put together and how much work you want to do. Also how comfortable you are with tearing apart an expensive collectible.

It's definitely the sculpt, as the mouth and nose are beyond the fur - so it's going to need more than a facelift :(

I didn't mean skin-only modification, but the process of improving something's appearance in general. But to put it into surgical terms specifically, "reconstructive surgery" which can include the structures uinder the skin. There you go. ;)

Perfect! :rotfl

Poor Chewie - I feel sorry for him with all the work people are going to put him through... :(

That's a WHOLE lota work!

I had to subtly reshape his head (probably not that noticeable), as well as face - it virtually needs a new head :(

How's this?

Diggin it.

That is more how he should look. The upper lip area (where a mustache would be) needs to have less volume and sit flatter. Cleft lip. Shorter muzzle. Thinner upper lip hair. Id accept that as a win. No dout this is a tough figure to execute, but damn. We should hopefully be seeing HK pics soon. Then we will know what we are in for.

This kinda reminds me of an illustration I made for 2014's Star Wars Day.. I think Chewie really looks great with eyeglasses!
