I thought I was the only one questioning this figure. The eyes, the head itself, all wrong for Chewie! And I was really looking forward to this!

Yeah HT need to be careful. Giving the collectors fur, crossbow, and purse is not Chewbacca. They need to really capture the essence of Chewbacca. It is a very fine line. Kind of like SS Gammorean Guard. You would have thought that one was simple enough but the final product was all wrong. Nothing of what I remembered when I was young. Sure SS gave us green pig in a helmet but they failed to capture the Gammorean ESSENCE!!!!

I couldn't agree more about the SSC Gamorrean guard, it was a true disappointment in so many ways.

I guess we either buy them or we don't, but yeah. They really need to listen to fan feedback - especially for SW.

They could potentially kill the goose that lays golden eggs if they're not careful. Honestly? My biggest disappointment so far is the Han Solo.

The Stormie seems to be the only one that's gotten a firm tick from the fans so far.

There is a difference between SW licence and other license (upcoming movie figures) as SW has been in the minds of collectors for over 30 years. You cannot try anything new with 30 years of reference)
I have seen thousands of Chewbacca images in this time. For $250 HT needs to capture it. For $25 Hasbro can do what the **** they want.

He definitely looks more Chewblacca than Chewbacca.:lol

I don't want to know what that smells like.

Some of the small Hasbro figures have amazing likenesses. :lol

Their 4" 2004 VOTC Cheiwe, & 2005 'Early Bird' Chewie figures are pretty much unsurpassed in the action figure realm - to date. :exactly:

Now it makes sense. This is an Episode VII version of Chewie

This. The same is true of Han and Obi-Wan too. I don't get the hype for overpriced caricatures of these characters. Sure they're realistic but for the price realism won't cut it. The likeness needs to be close to perfection and think SSC has done a better job with Han in stormtrooper disguise and their Old Ben. HT apologists can't defend their position saying perfect sculpts don't exist. Perhaps they don't but they could be far, far better than what they're showing us.

Good post. For me Obi and Vader been the biggest disappointments, and surprises. I thought they'd do better on Vader, tbh. I think Han is closer than Obi. And yeah, Stormie is the only one that Ive been almost completely happy with. It ain't perfect but they hit the sweet spot.

Boy is that true. :lol The VC Gammy is amazing. And there are a few Hans and Luke's that I think have rather good likenesses. The VC Bespin and Hoth Han are very good and I love Snowspeeder Luke.
