Merry Christmas everyone!

Best. Hot Toys. Likeness. Ever. :lecture

Many of you who are collecting now will be (hopefully) married in the near future -- some with children -- by the time the next version of Chewbacca comes out. You will not have the time, nor the finances, to buy the next Chewbacca... and you may not even care.

I have seen many pass through these forums on their way to real life. Few return.

So enjoy the Now. It disappears quickly.

Trying to justify this expensive hobby to the wife makes me want a divorce...I feel guilt no matter how I slice it lmfao

My real life includes a child marriage a job a hobby or three and collecting these wonderful collectibles. Merry Christmas freaks! Stay safe! I tell my wife that v2s are just variants, a necessary evil in collecting.

Do you guys think these will sell out rather quickly, the EX Han-Chewie and Stormtrooper sets? Or will they still be around for while and get discounts/double rewards/etc? This Spooktacular and Black Friday, a ton of things that I had pre-ordered earlier had great deals and now I feel hesitant on pre-ordering something unless it's a rare EX that I want...

Really, that's anyone's guess. As i see it, expectations, and excitment for TFA slowly building up in the coming months, it could go one way or the other. For my part, i decided to secure both EX versions of those as i clearly expect them to sell out before they start shipping. They are the first (not counting Bespin Luke) Hot Toys star Wars figures ever. They gotta sell fast.

There's a part of me that wonders if this stuff isn't going to be akin to the 89 Jokers, in that the SW license is such a huge "get" for HT that I can see them producing this stuff by the buttload, but you never really know. I'm just curious to see what this means for HT 1/6th, as a whole, if they can make that rooted hair look as good as the prototypes, does this mean we'll see more rooting in future figures with longer hair?

It's a good try, I guess. The face is just so wrong though, yeah. No facial structure, just a big hairy lump (head) with features stuck on it.

Just think how inconsistent this figure will be in mass production too.

I forget the name of the other insider (not Jack Bauer) but I believe he said that HT was continuing to tweak Chewie's face for production. I'd honestly be very surprised if HT looked at the prototype and thought that that was an acceptable likeness. In regards to production QC with the fur, I'm not really too worried. I think it'll hold-up fine if one's careful with it.

I see more of Chewie in YFB's post that some of the other recent images.

I'm sticking with my PO, hoping it's one of those figures that doesn't photograph well but looks great in person.

If this was a custom you guys would all be blowing your loads at how awesome it looks. This is and will be the only 1/6 Chewy on the market and considering how many of us thought it could never and would never be done, I think it looks pretty awesome.
