Here's another one I took guys from a slightly lower angle. It seems to show the flare more. These were taken with a cell phone so there probably is some lens distortion(took them panoramic to try to minimize). IMAG0093.jpg

Vader's helmet is one of the most iconic of our time... perhaps of all time... Hot Toys needs to get it right... buy an E-fx replica and study the nuances... give us the definitive representation of the character out of the gate.

That proto they keep peddling around is not the production one. I think it will be all good once the actual product surfaces. It won't be perfect -- never is -- but it will be the current superior Vader to have. For now.

Obviously. I was just saying.. Maybe don't be so picky? :)

See below:

For the pricepoint, being picky is the name of the game.

You now have the answer ;)

Us SW nuts are the poster children for being picky - JKNO leading the charge no less! :wave :lol

We want accuracy.

:lecture

:exactly: In the possible limits, of course.

Yes we do, but I feel like these toy companies can only do so much. The perfect Vader might not ever come out. :thud:

We don't want perfection, we want something good. Look at the comparison pics posted above, you'll see what I mean. SSC and HT can do better.

Marmit was on the brink of actually doing it ten years ago

Yeap, and they did an excellent job. It was not perfect, but very close, which would have been enough.

But he lights up and breathes.:)

You mean the belt lights up (I don't think anything else does - droid or stand.)

And my Hasbro 12" Vader breathed AND talked brilliantly. With some work it looks pretty great too.:lol

Saber lights up

Saber lights up

Oh yeah - like the SSC young Obi Wan.:( I don't hold out much hope on the LED saber (probably the reason I forgot.)

Any pics so far other than those with the "lighting effects has been enhanced for led lighted lightsaber" disclaimer?

Light-up stand would have been cool for Vader, eh?

Need a cathode saber for this guy.

Yeah, you'd think by now a HT or SSC would have given that a shot. I just can't see Vader's LED working real well. Maybe in a pitch black room it'll look decent.

Been meaning to look at pixelpiper's cathode stuff, maybe HT Vader would be a good kick-off to get some eerie glows in the detolf...
