Well...not only is this the best out-of-the-box Vader (as expected) I think the production item is better than expected. Couple of flaws, but I'm in for this.

I might parts buy. I got the hurricane vader mask for ANH and dome. might get pieces here and there for my custom vader

I think the figure overall looks great, this is my first Vader 1/6 figure. The gloves don't bother me, but that abdomen gap...that's something else. I am pretty forgiving on little details on my figures, but there should not be any gap. I think that is pretty serious, and takes away from the figure. I hope someone comes up with a way to fix that.

Well, one thing for sure us that this will he a kick ass Vader figure. I like that dome and WANT IT. The gloves are horrid, and there are a few other things that need tweaks, but overall HT made a great Vader figure. I see no great improvement from this to my ANH Vader so I'm happy with mine. I may pick up the head just to get a better look at it and resell it. I bet we're going to see all kinds of cool stuff now as far as customizations go.

There's often something wrong on figures so there's an incentive to buy another version later - as in planned obsolescence. But that gap is seriously wrong.

The glove issue could be hidden by careful posing, but what can you do about that gap?

Really need to stop posting pics of the Kenobi duel.....doesn't flatter either figure. I get it....with his limited time in ANH hard to find original movie accurate poses not already snapped. Overall great piece for my collection....I cannot wait to have him on the shelf leading my Stormies. Definitely need a pose to flatter the gloves...

I think it looks terrific next to the stormtroopers. That is what I need this for. Nits aside this is a terrific warrior vader. The Droid makes for a great leia accessory. I think I'll keep my ssc deluxe too, probably just display it with the stylized head sculpt. Hope to see hot toys jedi version sooner than later.

I've seen a few posts of people wanting to sell their SSC Vader "pronto" for this HT version. Good luck with that! I had mine listed in the commerce section for nearly a year before someone bought him and I had the exclusive. I had to undersell to get rid of him. And this was long before this Vader was released.

He does look a lot more ESB than ANH in the mid-section:

Out of the box he's a cosplayer. But put the robes under the armour and hey presto it's a better ESB.

(I'm talking myself into buying this but for everything else that would be wrong with him )

Maybe someone can make a larger chest plate that could fit over or replace the figure plate? I think the figure one might be a bit undersized. That top armor could come down a bit as well.

Maybe that's the problem? The chest box looks small because the chest armor is too small. It should come down lower almost to the bottom of his chest, not resting near the top of chest. Once there's comparison pics with Sideshow ANH version it'll be able to tell which piece is actually wrong.

Mask and helmet turned out really well. Love it. From the torso up he looks really good.

For some reason those hands, gloves and a lot of the suit look hilarious to me though. Looks like a goth kid with skinny little hands and "sexy" arm warmers or something.

Overall the figure definitely looks nice once properly futzed, and some pictures look absolutely stunning, but he doesn't scream ANH Vader to me. Agree with others I need to see side by sides with SSC ESB/ROTJ one before making a decision. Sideshow did pretty decent with that one and was hoping this would at least make me want to buy to have both versions said and done with, but not quite ready to drop rewards points and moolah on him just yet. Ver close though
