Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

Eh, just don't read the forums so much. Why do people take others opinions that seriously anyway? This forum is just a way to waste time and share the love of the hobby.

The internet is a place to *****.

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

I don't care about their opinions its just that everyone expresses the same opinion 500 times in the same thread and it gets to be too much. I don't need to be told 20x that the dome is too high or the chest box is too small.... I can see that for myself. People can complain all they want but its not going to change anything so why waste the energy. I bet you could show people the EXACT Vader costume from the movie and they would find something wrong with it. It just gets old.

Ok... officially off my high horse let the bashing continue.

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

anyone else notice the sign that appears to say "Darth Vader's Entrance 1/6th Scale Diorama"?

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

Nice. Love Vader but not sure if I should wait for the eventual 1/4 scale ESB version. I think I may need to hold off for the figure I truly want.

Good catch - the first thing I thought when I saw those pics was "wow - that's a lot of effort just for a display." I guess it makes sense from their perspective - you can't really use that unless you've got a few stormies. Looks great.

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

I won't deny it's a good looking Vader figure. But you also can't blame some of us for wanting a ANH Vader that captures what he actually looked like in ANH.

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

Well now we see who bashes SSC just because they aren't HT. There were some thing wrong with the 1st SSC Vader, but I don't see how anyone can say this is better than the ESB Vader. Especially the helmet.

I'm thinking why don't we have it out between the HT apologists and the Sideshow apologists and those of us who consider them both equally worthless can look on in amazement? :lol

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

I know they probably can't use reference from another licensed company other than Sideshow, but if they lack physical reference such as a helmet, they could or should check out the eFX Vader helmet.

Thought this is just a prototype, it is still a very good representation for the ANH Vader helmet. Here's what eFX had to say when posting that image:
Please note the following:

-This is just the first castings from a PRE-production mold. There is still a lot of work to do on it!
- I just placed the dome on top so the position is not exactly correct.
- There are no lenses in this casting. The black is the mannequin head!
- We are still working on the production line fixtures to prevent deformation of the castings through the production process. (Other than what is supposed to be there!)

One of the "problem" areas is the flare at the bottom of the neck. We are working with the vendor on this. That flare is about 1" off from the master pattern!
we are also addressing the fact that they are not following the trim line EXACTLY as we scribed it in the master pattern.

But, this is the usual process where it takes about the same amount of time to accomplish the first 90% of the development as it does to accomplish the last 10% to address the "fine" details.

Thanks!

Bryan

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

I reckon I could throw a lump of clay at a stucco wall blindfolded and still end up with a better Vader helmet than the heap of trash Hot Toys has served up here.

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

Impossible.

Everyone said Hot Toys would produce the perfect Vader. All others would kneel before him. Even Zod.
