If people keep ordering then obviously they don't dislike their practices enough to stop them from being a customer.

I'm not sure where all the talk about "self respect" and "dignity" comes from. It's a toy. Buy it if you want it. Don't buy it if you don't.

Comparing Sideshow putting a figure up for pre-order at a time that you personally found inconvenient to discriminatory business practices borders on offensive. In fact, I'm not even sure what argument you are trying to make with that.

You hit this argument right on the money. Bottom line is you can't make everyone happy and you can't post it at everyone's "perfect time" I think SS did they best they could considering how many they had and honestly if they did a mass email saying exactly when it would go up you would probably have even more scampers waiting to buy one.

Makes you wonder how many people hit the pre-order button in excitement, but come July may not have, or be able to justify, the remaining $270 + shipping.

I'm sure some wait lists will convert to orders, but who knows how many.

I kinda remember a few members posting about their waitlist conversting for the Mark VI. But not a bunch.

The VI didn't sell out as quick as this one. Makes me wonder if they undersold it and will sell the remaining with conversions. I think that's happened before. I don't recall the waitlist closing quick on the Mark VI.

Not everyone posts that their waitlists convert either since some conversions are after the figure has been charged months or so later.

you will have people who cant make a payment losing their place, straight up order cancellations due to extenuating circumstances etc

there will be a percentage of wait lists converted. its just a matter of where you are on the list vs number of unit sold.

we dont have the number of units to make a decent guess though

Happens all the time, plus, when they're charged, they better have the funds.

You taking the time to number all of the inconsistencies with the look in the film compared to the actual figure.

Was I wrong, did you get an order in?

Yes I did secure a preorder. However I wasn't totally versed in the evolution of his BD in the film and wanted to see how the figure matched up. I was surprised that while awesome the specific wear on the figure doesn't actually appear on film.

It's back to the way you wanted it. On topic....

"So called" he says :rotfl :slap

I'm pretty sure that people posted pics of their real signif@gant others.... including CriterionCollector

The internet can be a weird place. Especially those who trawl through dating and social media sites nicking photos. Flickr has been terrible for that.

The only fault I could say on their part was, putting the yellow disclaimer up days after it sold out. That should have been there the day the product page went live.

Important Product Information
The Battle Damaged Mark VII Figure is a special promotional item only available in the U.S.

This didn't happen to me like other non U.S customers. As I never discovered it until the morning when I saw the front page of the forum, then wondered why that was there and no email. That left me, o_O especially when I saw it sold out in the morning and subscribed to the newsletter. I was saddened but then I thought, oh well.

Who is this guy? A teenager?

You'd think so, wouldn't you?

But he's probably a full grown, doll-collecting adult who wants to tell you about his "wife"

I'm thinking he's going to come in Iron Man 3 themed packaging rather than Avengers with him being a "movie promo" and all. Hoping the joints and whatnot are the same in the hands so we can use the repulsor hands with the regular MKVII.

Still want a stand to do a horizontal flying pose. May have to try and whip something up.

The regular mark vii now comes with the repulsor hands as an added bonus.

Also SS might secure more of these from HT, considering there hasnt been a fixed number out there yet.

That would defeat the purpose of a limited edition. If they suddenly decide to make thousands more (it would actually take thousands more copies for all of the people who missed out to get one) then you can be sure a lot of people who ordered would be cancelling.
