I am excited to get this figure, but MAN I would have liked to have saved $70 and dropped the electronic features.

Painting the eye brows black will hide them under the dome and make things look more right.

I think I will try this before adjusting the dome, especially since I have not been able to get the dome off. What kind of paint would you recommend using?

Once they're done with the ANH line, it's on to ESB, isn't it? I'd love an ESB version.

Should be unless they start with prequels to give OT a rest. ESB is the better movie but SW is still my favorite. I'm gladd we got those first.

I don't think there would be many ESB figures I would get, if any. I'm only going to stick with the ANH Vader (like his look in ANH the best anyway) and I'm more than happy with the DX Bespin Luke, as I think it's the best DX figure set that HT has made. After this ANH line, the only other figure I can see myself getting from the OT would be a RotJ Luke. Possibly an ESB Yoda.

I don't think I'd pick up an ESB Solo because if I do pick-up another Solo, it'd be from TFA. If they make him.

As far as the PT, I'd be all in on a RotS Anakin and Obi-Wan. Possibly a Qui-Gon also. Those would be the only for sure two and possibly three I'd get.

My Vader has finally arrived from BBTS.

I have the Sideshow New Hope Vader and I really had to think long and hard before I grudgingly ordered.

I am so glad I did.

The helmet flare is so much more closer to the movie version and from above, having the face more inwards, it is more menacing.
The cape, it has such weight to it that it hands so natural than the SS version ever could.
The elbow has a little more angle than the SS version and having wrist articulation is something i have wanted for so long.

The thing I dislike the most is the process of putting in the light-up saber onto the figure. Having to remove the clothing, I fear it may snag or tear. I tested the voice and the lights but I only kept the light up saber with batteries.

Very well worth it.

Got the last Vader Alter Ego had in today. Out of all the SSC 1/6 SW figures i've owned over the years, Vader was never one of them (Unless you consider the SDCC EX Mustafar Anakin figure). Have to say I'm blown away by this HT figure. I honestly don't know all the details of the original screen worn suits and helmets but to me this is pretty awesome. Can't wait to get it home and mess around with it and see what its all about :yess:

:clap Have fun guys!

Why the electronics are not in the base is baffling.

Ok, so here is my 'solution' for the Sound FX:

I ended up buying extra parts from TA, so I still have a MINT Vader. Gorilla Tape is just to make sure the hole I made thru the vest, and body suits do not widen. Its not a noble solution, but I am happy with the 'easy access' backdoor as it were

oh here is what my vader looks like with the helmet lower. once you manage to take the helmet off there are two squares one in his head and the other under the dome. they lock together but looks like some glue residue was on the thelmet. I stuck a small flat head screwdriver to both sides of the helmet and gently wiggle it back and forth on both sides to it became lose. I used my dremel sanding wheel to do the inside of the helmet where you see the square that locks to head.i then glued it back together. I haven`t decided yet but was thinking of putting a magnet inside the helmet but haven`t decided yet. so for the glue will do for now. I know this vader photo`s very well. I think it looks better with the mod. ANH DARTH VADER 1.jpg DARTH VADER 2.jpg

hot dayum! I think that's the ticket!! thanks for the insight! do you think some hot water would help loosen the bond??

I did not try the hot water. but I thought about of using a blow dryer at first. but then I used my flat head screw driver instead by rocking it gently back and forth on both sides like I mentioned before and that`s how it got it off

Wait -- no pics of the dome separated from the mask -- to show us what's inside?

That dome doesn't look lowered at all. I still see the eyebrows and the point of the widow's peak hits the same notch as all the other pics I've seen. That dome didn't come off, young man. Not without proof.

This is like your Chewbacca head all over again.
