Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

I'd love HT to offer a Tantive IV dio.

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

It's nice. Almost Marmit quality. But they seriously need to fix that leather suit and make it more accurate. Also seems that the angles on the dome are a little off or maybe I'm just too used to the lumps and bumps and want that in my perfect Vader. The gunmetal is also way too light. They need to go darker.

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

This will be a day long remembered.

It has seen the end of Kenobi...

It shall soon see the end of Vader... wait, what?

Look out!!!!

Those are my dreams.......

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

Chest box and belt are too damn small.

Makes me wonder what source material they're looking at when they're doing the chest armor, box and the belt. Even Sideshow didn't get the size right. Hope they get tweaked.

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

Well, maybe if the body wasn't oversized, the rest of him would look right :lol

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

He's got the same problem in the crotch as the Sideshow Vader 2.0...If I didn't know any better I'd say they were the same ones.

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

That's not much to go on but he looks fine to me. Especially for, what's more than likely, a very early prototype.

Yeah, the Stormies look small but they're also several steps behind him. Perspective.

I'm ready to order! :rock

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

I love how people forget what the first movie actually looks like.
Looks awesome.

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

Sure the Stormtroopers look smaller behind him, but I don't think it's all perspective... it's not like they were shooting the Hobbit for these photos. The HT Vader is a tall figure, plain and simple. The SS one looks too tall at times, but then stand him beside a 1/6 Basketball player, and it seems like he is scaled 6'7" which isn't too big (in my opinion).
He looks pretty good, but as others have mentioned, he does have his full share of flaws. I'm not convinced that HT will be making any major corrections to the released version (they've released some duds in the past), and I still don't believe he will be less than $275. If you want the ANH look, then ya, he's a marked improvement over SS's version (which is several years old, so this one SHOULD look better). But as an overall Darth Vader, I don't think he looks significantly better to sell my SS 2.0 to get this one.

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

Meh, I'll keep SSC DX Vader. Even with some improvements on this proto, it's not a must-buy for me. I do like the body type they used here instead of the stick figure on the SSC.

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

Looks Ok... Not this huge amazing OMG :horror upgrade from newer SS version.... Still plenty off with it, so no perfect Vader yet. Not sure if it would be worth upgrading, but who am I kidding!! It's Vader!! I have (and still have) the 1st Medicom Vader and both SS Vader's, and nearly every toy of Vader made by Hasbro, even the bad (It's a sickness me thinks!!).... So I'm sure I'll be getting this too. :cuckoo:

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

Its entirely possible that HT doesn't have the full prototype done and has "borrowed" parts from the recent Sideshow release for something to display. We'll see when the actual solicitation pix are photographed.

I'm sure that HT is using Sideshow parts on this. Makes perfect sense. Brilliant deduction!
